Subject: Partial Color Deficient occurs in Raster Display

[Description]
The partial deficient of the color is occurring in the raster display on the applicable model may be
improved by executing the following procedure. Implement it as required.

[Symptom]
One of the partial color deficient shown below can be confirmed in the red raster display.

[Required Parts/Tools]
1. Adhesive: 7-322-065-48 (RUBBER, SILICONE RTV (KE-3490))
2. Tweezers: To prevent contaminating surface of the Gch filter during removal/attachment.

[Procedure]
(1) Referring to the Service Manual Section 1-4-5, remove the CB board, CA board, and holder (C
board), and remove the Optical unit assembly (22).

(2) Confirm if the Gch filter is tilted or dropped as shown in the figure.

(3) If the Gch filter has dropped off or tilted, remove the light shielding sheet mounted to the Optical unit
assembly (22) with tapes (3 locations).

(4) Remove 3 screws and remove the unit cover.

(5) After removing the unit cover, confirm again (1) if the mounting spring is in a condition as shown in
the figure, and (2) if the Gch filter is tilted or dropped off.

(6) Remove the Gch filter using the tweezers.

(7) Place position of the marking on the Gch filter as shown in the figure.

(8) While holding the Gch filter with a tweezers in the state of (7), attach the mounting spring.
Orient the bent section of the mounting spring as shown in the figure.
At this time, be careful not to touch the surface of the Gch filter with your hand or not to scratch the
surface.

(9) Fix 2 locations shown in the figure with an adhesive after fixing with the mounting screw.
Refer to following figure for application location and application area.

(10) Confirm the curing of the surface by touching with hand after application (approximately 10
minutes), then attach the unit cover with the screws.
Attach the removed light shielding sheet, and press on the double-sided tape section with your hand.

(11) Attach the holder (C board), CA board, and CB board to the set in reverse procedure of Section
1-4-5.

[Confirmation]
(1) Turn on the power of the unit, and display the red raster, green raster, and blue raster in this order.
Confirm that there is no partial color deficient and the color is displayed uniformly in each raster
display.

(2) Perform aging for 30 minutes in white raster, and then perform same confirmation as (1) again.
