“A Two-Storey Residential House”
I. BACKGROUND

The following requirements are given by the client in order to design and build a house consisting of 7
members in the family including Father, Mother, Son, 2 daughters and Grandparents in a 2-storey house with a concept
of contemporary and minimalist style located in a subdivision in Mandaluyong city. The lot is used to be place in a
corner lot with the area of 150 sq. and the main entrance is facing in the east side of the site development plan. The
requirements for the 2-storey house are the following that are located in the ground floor, such as: Foyer in the main
entrance, Living Area, Kitchen, Dining area, 1 common toilet and bath w/ powder room, (the powder room should be
always dry) , 1 Den room that can be used as Bedroom or Office for guests, 1 Maids room connected to the laundry for
fast working purposes, storage cabinet and garage fit for 1 car only. Second floor requirements room are the following:
1 master bedroom with toilet & bath, 3 bedrooms for the son and 2 daughters and the remaining bedroom is for the
grandparents that come home occasionally. 1 common toilet & bath and a Balcony connected in the master bedroom,
pocket garden placed in the balcony should have a view from the outside, the following designs are both provided by
the collaboration of the designer and the client applying proper procedures and standards.

II. SPECIAL REQUIRMENTS

The special requirements are detailed by the client such as the roof should be either shed or flat roof and the
balcony on the second floor should have direct contact on the master bedroom and it must be connected as the client
requested, and also the balcony must contain a pocket garden in it providing good sight and a precious view from the
outside, the pocket garden have no specific area and dimensions given.
