SUBJECT: Picture Making
MAIN CONCEPT: Painting
SUB TOPIC: Painting of human figures

OBJECTIVE:

By the end of the lesson, the students should be able to;

1. Explain the concept of painting.
2. List the types of colors.
3. Draw and paint a human or animal figure in thirty minutes.

INTRODUCTION (10 minutes)

I will start by asking the students the following questions to introduce the lesson;

Questions: How can you identify the colors of human being or animal.

Expected Answer:
• By nature
• Artificial
• True birth

I will explain that in order for target to be met or achieved, the students needs to paint anything.
Then I will introduce the topic of the day – Painting.

PRESENTATION (20 minutes)

Step 1: Explain of colors and their mixture

Using discussion method, I will guides the students to explain what color is and how they can be
mixed. I will give an illustration in the form of previous works done by me and also does a sketch and
illustrate the colors on the board.

Question: Explain color and how to mix them. Expected Answer:

• Color is a wet media

• How to mix color is by taking one color by adding it to another color.
Core Points:
Color is the property possessed by an object of producing different sensations on the eye as a result
of the way it reflects or emits light.

Step 2: Define painting.

Using the introduction, I will guides students to define painting. I asks them the question below;

Question: What is Painting. Expected Answer:

• It is the art of using color by the help of brush to paint on a surface.

• It is the use of mixing of colors to depict a picture.

Core Point:

Painting is the art of using dry media or wet media by mixing them to get the actual color to
represent a picture on a surface by the help of tools and materials.

Demonstration:

I will draw any figure on a paper and show them the mixture of the colors in painting.

Conclusion:

I will call the students to summaries the lesson, l will add any point that the students may leave out. I
will also invites question from the students.

Evaluation:

I will evaluates the students understanding of the lesson by giving them an assignment to draw and
paint a human figure at least (4) and apply the mixture of colors.
