Subject: P1 - ARTS

Topic: Lines as Elements of Arts

Term and Week: Term 3 Week 1

Learning objectives:
To be able to identify the different kinds of lines
To be able to create a yarn painting art using different lines
To be able to discuss the importance of lines when it comes on arts
Resources:
Yarn Painting - YouTube
Materials: Television, PowerPoint Presentation, LCD, yarns, glue, illustration board

Presentation of the Lesson: Day 1

1. The teacher will introduce the lesson for today which is the “Line as Element
of Arts”. The students will be asked what are their ideas about lines.
2. The students will also give examples of lines that is present in their
classroom.
3. The teacher will give a brief information about lines. He will also give the Date___________
different kinds of lines. See pictures below:

Lines - often define the edges of a form. Lines can be horizontal, vertical, or


diagonal, straight or curved, thick or thin. They lead your eye around the
composition and can communicate information through their character and
direction.

Assessment or Closing Activity: Yarn Painting

1. The students will create a painting using yarn and different lines that has
been discussed earlier.
2. They need an illustration board ¼, glue, yarns with different colors.
3. The teacher will give instruction on how to make yarn painting

Instruction:
a. Draw a line using glue on your illustration board. Any lines.
b. Choose a piece of yarn and lay on to the glue.
c. Trim the excess yarn
d. Continue the steps until you make your own painting.

4. The outputs of the students will be assessed using the following rubrics if the
teacher will wish to mark it.

The IEP student/s can join all the activities with the rest of the kids with some guidance
from the teacher.

Note: If in any case the teacher runs out of time, she can give the unanswered
worksheet/s as their homework.
