Introduction

Market Survey

A market survey is a tool used to gather information about existing or


potential customers in a certain market or a segment of the population.
Researchers select a sample of customers from the population. The
information from the survey is then used to assess attitudes and beliefs,
and in turn, predict market behaviour, such as buying intentions.

The following methods can be used while conducting a survey:

i. Personal interview/Direct personal investigation This


method is used when the surveyor has access to all the
members.

ii. Mailing questionnaire Under this method, the data in a


survey are collected by mail.

iii. Telephone interview In this method, the investigator asks


questions over the telephone.

This project has adopted the personal interview method while


conducting the survey.

Findings of Market Survey

The findings of the market survey conducted are summarised below:

i. The market for this product is in its formative years due to lack of health
consciousness among people.

ii. The quality of the products of our competitors is not up to the mark.
Because of this, brand loyalty is low. This can be a positive sign for us
iii. Majonty of the respondents agreed that the innovation offered by us is a
great motivator for them to start gymming

iv. Price is not a determining factor in this segment, with only 2 respondents
saying that they not use home gymming equipment because it was too
expensive did
v. The findings are in general indicative that there is plenty of scope for our
products in this segment.

So, what are we waiting for? Lets get ahead with our venture.
