While

granted that faith cannot be proved, what harm will come to you if you gamble on its truth and it
proves false if you gain, you gain all if you lose, you lose nothing wager, then, without hesitation, that he
exists, everyone believes in different gods and thinks it is the one real god, but they are all atheists when it
comes to the gods they do not believe in  because no matter what belief system you are embedded in, there
are people on each side claiming to have experienced or witnessed miracles from their gods and this is not
just one religion against another these are endless miracles from countless religions opposing one
another and religion is the ideal solution for individuals seeking easy solutions to life's complex concerns for
those seeking the right answers to those problems, reason and science are the solutions. The belief in Gods
has always existed throughout human’s recorded history. Whether it be the Greek Gods: Apollo, and Zeus,
or the Judeo-Christian God, believed by Christians in modern day society. The belief of God has always
existed among humans, however, assuming God does not exist, what explains the cultural evolution of such
a false belief, namely religion? I shall argue that the reason this false belief is successful is because it
manipulates human nature better than any other belief by these three points: an avoidance of death (the
soul), a sense of worth (knowledge), and a sense, or need of belief (faith). Religion is the ideal solution for
individuals seeking easy solutions to life's complex concerns. For those seeking the right answers to those
problems, reason and science are the solutions. There will always be questions that we cannot answer at this
time, but that is why science has developed and progressed; it is critical that we be able to question. To be
born at all, in my opinion, is a great blessing. We have the privilege of being in this universe for a few
decades and it is an enormous privilege to be able to understand something about the universe in which we
live why we're here why we were ever born where we come from and I think that is such a wonderful thing
to be able to do that I am hostile I can get angry about competing accounts which seem to me to not
encourage that kind of questioning. it was written 2000 years ago and that's the end of it. This deprives
people and that is such a belittling a demeaning view of the of the universe and it's tragic that children are
brought up with that when they could be brought up in a more open-minded way. some type of divine
agency has bent the natural and scientific laws as we know them, in order to perform some type of
extraordinary act. Or, there is a perfectly logical and natural explanation for the event. And if you still do
believe in miracles, what makes you think that it is your god or divine agency that is responsible for the
event? The reason why I ask this, is because no matter what belief system you are embedded in, there are
people on each side claiming to have experienced or witnessed miracles from their gods. And this is not just
one religion against another - these are endless miracles from countless religions opposing one another. This
should be a clear indication of what these so-called ‘miracles’ really are. Which is, well, not miracles at all.
Once again, I will imply that we use the same way of thinking, about the notion of prayers and scripture.
Isn’t it weird that there are billions of people who are praying and who are in dialogue with their god or
gods, that are contrary to one another? I mean, they can’t all be in dialogue with god, because they are not
referring to the same god - This is something even theists can agree upon. And at best, only one of them can
be true, right. So what is really going on here? Are some of them just lucky enough to have been born into
the right family at the right place and at the right time, so that they’ve prayed or even spoken to the right
god. And all those other people are just misled and deluded. Not only did God create the entire cosmos, with
billions upon billions of galaxies, and within each galaxy, billions upon billions of stars and planets but that
same god is also extremely invested in what each and every one of us human beings on planet earth is
thinking. Or is it perhaps more likely, that all prayer and so-called dialogue with the divine is a symptom of
delusion. the same goes for scripture. It is really unfortunate that god authored more than one holy book
each of which is contrary to one another. This should likewise be a clear indication that these religious texts
aren’t messages from the divine - but rather, man-made texts made millennia ago by peasants who didn’t
even know that planet earth was round. Let's say that there is an all-powerful god who intends to write a
book I’m pretty sure that book would be a little more interesting, than what we’ve got so far. Because there
is absolutely no new information in any ‘holy book’, neither are there anything that resembles a powerful/all
knowing mind. All there is, is myths and statements that can be scientifically and logically disproven.
Earlier I mentioned that some gods, namely the ones that control certain aspects of nature are ancient and
bygone. Because of the progression of science, we now have a much broader understanding about the world
we live in - so we don’t need these gods, because they add nothing. Thus, there are still some questions
about the world that science haven’t yet been able to answer.

This is questions such as; how did it all begin? How did life come about? and what happens when we die?
These are unanswered questions, and hence the 'god-of-the-gaps' still has wiggle room in these areas. As
science has advanced, so-called God's "room for maneuver" has reduced - this is what people believe. What
I used to believe God was in charge of has now reduced down to these last few questions. The god-of-the-
gaps is the result of everything science has answered and everything it has yet to answer. Even so, we can
reason about this heavenly 'god-of-the-gaps' entity. If you invoke a supernatural being to explain how things
began, you still haven't answered anything because you don't have an explanation for the supernatural being
itself. We can all agree that the world we live in is complex, as are we, biological beings. If something
created us and the world we live in, that creator must be as complex as, if not more complicated than, what
it is creating. So when theists use God to provide solutions to the final few problems science has yet to
explain, they are not only doing so with a lack of proof, but the answers they present are also illogical and
raise even more questions that are completely irrelevant. Questions like, "Who or what created God?" Who
or what made the thing that made god? And we can ask these questions indefinitely. Consider the
watchmakers' argument, which runs as follows. Because of its intricacy, I can tell that this pocket watch is
the result of intellect, and it has nothing to do with the fact that watches don't breed. This argument is
fully won or lost on the first premise, which paley and other proponents of intelligent design bolster with
analogical reasoning. They claim that whenever we encounter complexity, we immediately perceive it as
something purposefully manufactured by an intelligent creature. To be fair to Paley, his thesis was
founded on a genuine gap in our understanding; we didn't know how nature could conjure this level of
complexity, so I can see why many were convinced of this. The watchmaker analogy is the absolute best
argument that theism has ever had. I completely understand why it's such a powerful and intuitive
argument, but there's this thing called evolution by natural selection that precisely explains how
complexity can emerge naturally. Because of this, we know that the first premise is incorrect and that the
analogy can't be true.

So why not start with what we know and try not to fill in the gaps with answers that have no empirical proof
and can be logically invalidated with just a little second of thought? Over ten thousand gods have been
created throughout human history by humans seeking solutions to questions they could not solve for
themselves. Religious people are all atheist, when concerning all the other gods their religion does not
subscribe to but some just go one god further. I genuinely think we should consider the consequences of
believing in this framework, this theistic framework, in this world, and what these moral underpinnings
actually are. Consider the parents of dying children: the majority of these men and women believe in God
and are praying right now for their children to be spared, and their prayers will not be answered okay, but
this is all part of God's plan, according to theists. Any God who would allow millions of children to suffer
and die in this manner, as well as their parents to grieve in this manner, is either incapable of assisting
them or does not care. if God is good and loving and just and kind and he wanted to guide us morally with
a book why give us a book that supports slavery why give us a book that it monitors us to kill people for
imaginary crimes like witchcraft.
