ACTIVITY Instruction: Conceptualize a GMO. (Adopted from Quinto and Nieva, 2019) On
the box provided, draw a possible GMO. In conceptualizing a GMO, think of the features or
traits that you imagine it possesses and its potential impacts on society. Be ready to share
your output in class.

that follows.

1. What is your GMO, its modified characteristics and features?

After the modification of pineapple, there's no more triangle shapes on the surface and
it was now flat. The color are still yellow when ripe and green when maturing. As I took
the genetic trait of a mango. However, there's no more line that form a small triangle,
only pure yellow or green and some small dots. Also, when peeling it there's no more
dark circles. We can now only peel it like peeling a mango and get a taste after.

2. In what ways do you think this GMO can positively impact society?
It improves by leap the characteristics and features of pineapple. It's easy to peel and
no more waste when slicing it. Farmers, factory, and the market would definitely
cultivate this GMO. As people wanted to make things easier for themselves, thus the
demand for this GMO will surge high.

3. What ethical issues or concerns may arise as a result of this GMO?

The ethical issue here is the acceptance. As GMO is still a broad topic within the
society. Some already accepted it, but some don't, because they're against with the
things that are created unnatural. Also, most people will always found a way to criticize
and judge it according to what they see or hear without knowing its history. However,

as long as my GMO prove its worth, then all people most likely accept it. At that time
the issues will be diminished.
