SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME (SIP)

The SIP is an experiential learning project that is a mandatory part of the PGDM
program. Hence, all students undertake this 3-credit course for a duration of 9 weeks
(April 1st, 2023 – May 31st, 2023) at the end of the first year. Considering that this
course is extremely important as it provides exposure to the real world to the student,
the student is expected to
 Uphold the name of the Institute by displaying the highest degree of
professionalism at the sponsoring organization
 Maintain the highest quality standards in executing the project
 Adhere to the sponsoring organization’s rules and regulations.

POLICIES

1. Eligibility
All students pursuing the PGDM program are eligible for the internship.
2. First Offer is Final
 The institute follows the policy that a student has to accept the first offer made to them
by a company. Hence, it is important for a student to apply to a company only if they are
interested.
 If a student has been made an offer, he/she is not entitled to take part in the SIP
process of any other company.
 Once an offer has been made, the student has to undertake and complete the internship at
that company only.
 Once an offer has been made, the student cannot refuse the offer based on locational priority
unless there is a valid reason and the same is accepted by the SIP Chairperson.
 Students who plan to pursue their student exchange program in any foreign university are
advised to arrange for the SIP from the same university where there are completing their
term studies.
3. Withdrawal from SIP Process
 Any student who wishes to opt-out of the SIP process is requested to intimate the same
before getting shortlisted by the company (Resume Shortlisting) OR they are expected to
produce the offer letter before December 31st, 2022. Please inform the same via email and
hard copy should be submitted to the SIP Committee. The student is also required to sign
an undertaking in this regard.
 Once you opt-out, you will have to find an internship on your own which meets the quality
standards of the Institute.
 Students who wish to pursue Internship through External contacts are free to explore it, but
they are not entitled to apply for any institute companies. If they wish to be part of the
institute internship process, they need to give an undertaking that they will accept the SIP
offer from the campus placement process.
SUMMER PLACEMENT POLICIES
 In case of any professional misconduct which includes – absence in the interview without
prior notice/genuine reasons, withdrawal after applying and unprofessional conduct in the
interview process; the student will be barred from the summer placement process and
downgraded by One-grade point from the grades obtained for SIP. This misconduct will be
factored in for final placements.
4. Usage of social media
 Students are required to maintain a high level of secrecy and be disciplined about what is
to be posted on social media with respect to information regarding summer placement
activities of the Institute. Students are requested not to publish any information about the
ongoing placements/completed placements/visiting companies /offers made etc. Any
violation of the same/sharing of confidential information with an external entity shall lead
to the initiation of serious disciplinary action. For example, posting on Facebook about a
company visiting the campus on a DD/MM/YYYY is taken as an attempt to leak crucial
information.
 Defaming the Institute or its interests regarding the campus placements of its students on
any platform on the Internet would result in disciplinary action, which may include
withholding of the PGDM Certificate.
 It is also requested that you do not post on social media, about your selection in any
company until the completion of the placement process, as this may adversely affect the
prospects of another company from the same sector visiting the college for placements.

General Note

 If the students have any grievances at any stage, the same may be addressed to the
Chairperson SIP Committee who shall be obliged to redress the same.

Any violation of the above-mentioned rules will lead to your SIP via institute being rejected.

The above rules are in addition to the set of guidelines and conduct rules applicable for the
entire program.
