Goals
Goals of the College of Teacher Education
a. Provide high quality teacher education that is responsive to education-for-all in the nation and education-for-sustainable development needs in the world;
b. Realize the threefold institutional thrust of instruction ,research and community outreach in higher education;
c. Hone students to the competencies and skills of a new breed of 21st century teachers, such as information-media literacy-communication skills,civic
literacy, and global awarenees,among other;
d. Create an environment for transformational leadership among students who will be imbued with energy,enthusiasm and passion for positive change in the
teaching profession; and
e. Instill the value for lifelong learning among graduates who will not only desire to become fullfledge professionals but also molders and artists who blend
the natural qualities and strong desire to be the best in the profession.
I. DESCRIPTION
This course deals with developing competence in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Listening is an information-processing act. It includes skills in auditory
discrimination and cognitive comprehension. Speaking includes skills in using the language expression and grammatical structures correctly in oral communication.
Reading is getting the meaning from printed page. It includes skills for vocabulary development, levels of comprehension namely literal, interpretative, critical
analysis and application, literary appreciation and study skills. Writing includes readiness skills, mechanics, guided writing. Functional and creative writing. At the
end of the course the students will develop competence in speaking, reading and writing. They will be able to think and communicate with ease and confidence the
school’s core values of discipline, intelligence, creativity, productivity and nationalism.

3. listens for comprehension, speaks clearly and uses appropriate expressions in talking about oneself, family, and other social context interactions.
