Resources Needed: MATERIALS Moving Ahead in English p 197-199 strips of
Carolina, manila paper, and power point
Methodology
Introductory Activity Opening prayer
(5 minutes) Checking of attendance
Activity
(15 minutes) The class will play charades.

The teacher will ask for five volunteers to enact the sentence
using body movements. The students who are sitting will be
guessing the sentence. The students who can guess the
sentence will write it on the board. The volunteers and the
students who got the correct sentence will be given a prize.

Analysis After the activities, let the students answer the following questions:
(5 minutes) 1. What have you observed from the sampled sentences?
2. What did you observe in the pattern of each sentence?
3. What is an active voice?
4. What is a passive voice?

Abstraction
(10 minutes) ● The students will underline the subject, encircle the verb and
box the verb.
● The teacher will present examples of active voice and identify
the structure of a sentence in an active voice

(15 minutes) Instructions:
● The class is divided into three groups
● The task of each group is to think of a presentation(talk show,
song, or poem) that contains active and passive voice
● There is a rubric: creativity, clarity and relevance.

Assessment Pen and paper test


(5 minutes) Part I.
The students are tasked to answer a 10 item objective type of test.
Assignment Students are tasked to create a narrative using active and passive voice.
(2 minutes)
Concluding Activity The students will share their learning by saying
(3 minutes) “I have learned that…______________________.”
“I will apply…_______________________.”
