 The teacher shows to the students a different GIFs that conveys different
meanings and ask for their idea and interpretations.

 The teacher presents (briefly) the concept of verbal and nonverbal strategies (p. 94)

B. Learning Activity (25 minutes)


 Teacher Activity
The teacher…
o asks the students to review the Great Expectations (An excerpt) by
Charles Dickens.
o Groups the students into three and asks them to reenact a particular
scene from the excerpt using verbal and nonverbal strategies while
reciting the main characters’ and/or the narrator’s line to create impact.

 Student Activity

o review the Great Expectations (An excerpt) by Charles Dickens.
o are grouped into three and do the activity that was given by the teacher.
o Criteria:
 Expression of feeling – 5 pts
 Clarity of Voice – 5 pts
 Believability of the role – 5pts

III. Integration (Broadening of Concept/Transfer)

 Discussion (4 minutes)
o The teacher emphasizes that knowing the verbal and nonverbal strategies
will help a person comprehend well the message. More so, it can be an
effective tool to have a successful communication.

 Integration (5 minutes)
o The students are led to the realization that in life, being attentive to
someone’s expression while interacting with them is important for us to
know how to respond accordingly. It will also help us understand them
more especially if they are hurt, angry, anxious and depress.

 Evaluation (5 minutes)
o Formative - short quiz about verbal and nonverbal strategies

 Summary/Synthesis (4 minutes)

o The teacher asks students (volunteers) to give the summary of what they
have learned during the day’s lesson.

 Purposive Assignment

o Study Adverbs and its different types.
