Group Activity: Prepositions of Location and Imperatives

Objective:
 To reinforce understanding of prepositions of location and imperatives in English language.

Materials Needed:
 Whiteboard and markers
 Index cards with prepositions of location written on them (e.g., under, behind, beside, in front
of)
 Index cards with imperative verbs written on them (e.g., stand, write, draw, read)

Activity Instructions:
1. Warm-Up (10 minutes):
 Begin by reviewing prepositions of location with the students.
 Provide examples and have students practice using prepositions in sentences.
 Review imperative verbs and how they are used in commands.
2. Group Formation (5 minutes):
 Divide the students into small groups of 4-5 members.
3. Main Activity (20 minutes):
 Each group will be given a set of index cards with prepositions of location and
imperative verbs.
 The task is for each group to create a short skit or written dialogue incorporating
both prepositions of location and imperative verbs.
 Encourage students to be creative and use a variety of prepositions and imperative
verbs in their skits or dialogues.
4. Practice Session (15 minutes):
 Allow each group time to practice their skit or dialogue.
 Encourage students to help each other with pronunciation and usage of
prepositions and imperatives.
5. Performance (10 minutes):
 Each group will perform their skit or dialogue in front of the class.
 After each performance, the audience can guess the prepositions of location and
imperative verbs used.
6. Reflection (5 minutes):
 Have a class discussion on the importance of prepositions of location and
imperatives in everyday language.
 Ask students to reflect on what they learned during the activity.

Written Output:
 As a follow-up, each group will write a short paragraph summarizing their skit or dialogue.
The paragraph should include at least three prepositions of location and three imperative
verbs. This written output will be collected and reviewed for understanding.
