1.1.3 Specifications
Specifications, dimensions and weights are non-
binding. Changes resulting from technical progress
and errors excepted.
2 Safety
2.1 Basic safety precautions
171759-001
2.1.1 Particularly important
The instructions in this operator's manual must be
read and observed, in order to prevent danger to all
persons who operate, maintain, repair and inspect this
CLAAS product.
Please read, in particular, the <Safety rules>, <Before
commissioning> and <Before putting the machine into
operation> sections of the operator's manual for the
modular cab.
The use of spare parts, accessories and ancillary
equipment that are not original CLAAS parts and not
tested and approved by CLAAS, can have a negative
impact on design specifications of the CLAAS modular
cab and its operational reliability and thereby impair
active and/or passive driving safety, as well as
occupational safety (accident prevention).
CLAAS will assume no liability whatsoever for
damage incurred as a result of the use of non-
genuine CLAAS parts, accessories and ancillary
equipment.
124224-001
2.1.2 Intended use
This product has been built exclusively for customary
operations in agricultural work (intended use).
Any use beyond the above shall be deemed as
contrary to the intended use; the manufacturer will
assume no liability for damage resulting from such
use; the risk lies solely with the user.
The intended use also includes the respect of the
operation, maintenance and repair conditions
specified by the manufacturer.
This product may be used, serviced and repaired only
by persons who are familiar with it and have been
instructed as to the hazards involved.
The relevant accident prevention regulations as well
as the other generally recognized safety, occupational
medicine and road traffic rules must be respected.
Unauthorised modifications of this product exclude
any liability by the manufacturer for any resulting
damage.
154165-001
2.1.3 General safety and accident prevention regulations
– In addition to the instructions contained in this
manual, also observe the general safety and
accident preventive regulations.
– Always comply with local traffic regulations when
driving on public roads!
122615-001
2.1.4 Compressed air and water
Compressed air and/or pressurised water can cause
foreign bodies and/or hot water to be blown out. This
could result in personal injury.
When compressed air and/or pressurised water is
used for cleaning, wear protective clothing, protective
shoes, and a protective face shield. The eye
protection includes safety goggles and a protective
face shield.
The maximum air pressure for cleaning purposes
must be below 250 kPa (30 psi) (2.1 bar).
122617-001
2.1.5 Burn prevention
Relieve the pressure of compressed air, hydraulic or
lubrication systems completely before disconnecting
lines, connections or similar elements.
122619-002
2.1.6 Preventing fire and explosion
► If the machine has electric parts, all electric
connections must be cleaned and tightened.
► Check electrical cables daily to ensure that they
are not loose or worn.
► Fasten any loose cables and repair all worn
cables before putting the machine into operation.
► Note that all fuels, most lubricants and some
coolant mixtures are flammable.
► Keep lubricants out of reach of unauthorised
persons in properly labelled containers.
► Keep oily cloths or other combustible material in a
safety box.
► Never perform welding or cutting torch work on
pipes or lines which contain combustible liquids.
122620-002
2.1.7 Lines, pipes and hoses
► Never bend high pressure lines. Do not hit high
pressure lines. Do not install any lines that are
bent or damaged.
► Repair all lines that are loose or damaged. Leaks
can cause fire. Consult your local dealer for spare
parts.
► Check lines, pipes and hoses carefully. Never use
your bare hands to check for leaks. Use a piece of
wood or cardboard to check for leaks. Tighten all
connections to the recommended torque. Replace
parts if any of the following conditions occurs:
► End fittings are damaged or leaking.
► Outer covers are abraded.
► Wires are unprotected.
► Outer covers are inflated.
► Moving host parts are kinked.
► Outer covers have embedded
reinforcements.
► End fittings are displaced.
► Ensure that all clamps, safety devices and heat
shields are fitted properly. During operation of the
machine, this will help avoid vibrations, friction
with other parts and excessive heat.
122625-001
2.1.8 First aid measures
Breathing:
– Feed fresh air to the persons and consult a
doctor, depending on the symptoms.
– Remove persons from the hazard area.
Eye contact:
– Flush thoroughly with plenty of water for several
minutes. If necessary, consult a doctor.
Skin contact:
– Wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap,
remove polluted and soaked clothing without
delay, consult a doctor if skin is irritated
(reddening etc.).
Swallowing:
– Do not cause throwing up, consult a doctor
immediately.

positive terminal of the battery.
► When work is complete, first connect the positive
terminal and then the negative terminal to the
battery.
► Always disconnect the cables from the alternator
and battery before performing electrical welding
work on the machine and the front attachment.

DANGER
Exploding battery gases.
Death or serious injury is possible.
► Avoid sparks and naked flames in the vicinity of a
battery!
► To avoid accumulations of highly explosive gases,
remove the cover when recharging the battery.
11202-002
CAUTION
Use of fuses with excessive amperage.
Damage to electric system.
► Use only original fuses.
11203-001
Environment!
Handling of used batteries.
Environmental pollution.
► Dispose of old batteries in a way that is harmless
to the environment and in accordance with
existing anti-pollution regulations.
CAUTION
Incorrect handling of three-phase alternators.
Damage to the three-phase alternator.
► Do not switch off the battery isolating switch while
the engine is running.
► Never disconnect the cable between the three-
phase alternator and the battery while the three-
phase alternator is running.
► Do not check if a cable carries a voltage using a
metal object held against earth.
► Replace any defective battery indicator lamps
without delay.

7.1.4 Air conditioner
4200-006
DANGER
Refrigerant.
Death or serious injury possible.
► Work on the air conditioner must only be carried
out by a qualified expert workshop.
► Avoid any contact with refrigerant.
► Wear protective gloves and goggles.
► Welding must not be carried out on parts of the
refrigerant circuit or in direct proximity of it.
► Maximum ambient temperature for refrigerant is
80 °C.
92-002
Environment!
Lubricants and fuels can enter the atmosphere.
Risk of pollution
► Recover, store and dispose of lubricants and fuel
according to the regulations in force with the
appropriate containers.
Environment!
Incorrect handling of refrigerant.
Refrigerants are harmful to the environment as soon
as they are released into the atmosphere.
► Be especially careful when working on the air
conditioner.
► Suck off refrigerant properly before starting repair
work so that it cannot be released into the
atmosphere.
129374-001
7.1.5 Protective guards
172-001
DANGER
Missing or damaged safety devices.
Death or serious injury.
► Fit safety devices before putting the machine into
operation.
► Check function of safety devices at regular
intervals.
► Replace worn or damaged safety devices by new
ones.
129375-002
7.1.6 Spare parts
11210-002
DANGER
Use of unauthorised spare parts.
Death or serious injury.
► Spare parts must at least comply with the
technical standards required by the manufacturer
of the implement!
► We recommend using genuine CLAAS spare
parts.
