writes down the main issues to keep in mind when preparing to write (eg. form, style,
organization, paragraphs, link words, formal, informal, adverbs, opinion, reader, writer, fixed

Activity 4 – Systematization of knowledge (i) 5’

they have learned throughout this school year: REPORT, ARTICLE, REVIEW
- the teacher writes the three words on the board as the columns of a table; on the left side
of the table the teacher writes: PURPOSE, STYLE, ORGANIZATION
- the PURPOSE and STYLE cells will be filled after eliciting them from the students, one
by one (as in the table)

Activity 5 – Systematization of knowledge (ii) – pair work 20’

- for the ORGANIZATION cell, the students will have to work in pairs
- the teacher gives each pair of students a handout containing mixed paragraphs of an
article, a film review and a report.
- the teacher writes INTRODUCTION on the left side of the table and asks the students to
find the paragraphs containing the introduction of each of the three types of writing. She also
asks what kind of information is contained by each paragraph and writes it down in the
corresponding cell of the chart
- the same procedure will be repeated for the MAIN BODY and CONCLUSION
- at the end of the activity, the teacher makes sure that all pairs have the three pieces of
writing sorted out and placed in the correct order of paragraphs
