1. Describe basic units of computer.

A computer device is made up of several components that aid in its

operation and processing. There are five main components of a
computer that contribute to make data processing easier and more
convenient.
In this post, we will go over the fundamental computer components
and their operations. Additionally, sample questions based on this idea
have been provided further below in this post for applicants practicing
Computer Knowledge for future competitive exams.
Components of a computer system are the essential pieces that enable
an electronic device to operate smoothly and quickly. There are five
fundamental components, which are as follows:
 Input Unit
 Output Unit
 Memory Unit
 Control Unit
 Arithmetical and Logical Unit
2. Explain different types of computers.

There are many types of computers like

 Analogue computers - are intended to handle analog data. Analogue data is

continuously changing data that cannot have discrete values. Analog computers are
employed when accurate quantities are not required, such as speed, temperature,
pressure, and current.
 Digital computer- is designed to execute high-speed calculations and logical
functions. It takes raw data in the form of digits or binary numbers (0 and 1) as input
and processes it with instructions stored in its memory to generate the output. All
current computers, such as laptops, desktop computers, and smartphones, that we
use at home or in the office are digital computers.
 Hybrid computer- combines the advantages of both analogue and digital computers.
It is as fast as an analogue computer but has the memory and accuracy of a digital
computer. It is capable of processing both continuous and discontinuous data.
Before processing, it receives analogue signals and converts them to digital form.
 Supercomputers- are the largest and most powerful computers. They are built to
handle massive amounts of data. In a single second, a supercomputer may process
billions of instructions. It is made up of thousands of interconnected processors.
 Mainframe computers- are built to support hundreds or thousands of users at the
same time. They are capable of supporting many programs at the same time. It
means they can run multiple processes at the same time. These characteristics of
mainframe computers make them ideal for large enterprises such as banking and
telecommunications, which require the management and processing of large
amounts of data.
 Minicomputer - It is a multiprocessing computer of medium size. It has two or more
processors and can support up to 200 users at once. In institutes and departments,
minicomputer computers are utilized for duties such as billing, bookkeeping, and
inventory management. A minicomputer is a type of computer that is smaller than a
mainframe but larger than a microcomputer.
 personal computer- is a multi-purpose microcomputer whose size, capabilities, and
cost make it suitable for personal usage. Personal computers are designed to be
used by end users rather than computer experts or technicians.
And many more..
3. Write about the advantages of computer.

Computers boost your productivity, and if you understand the software

that runs on them, you will be more productive in all you do. For example,
once you've mastered the basics of word processing, you can create, save,
edit, share, and print documents and letters. With all previous
technologies, each of these activities was either impossible or significantly
slower.
Computers allow you to stay in touch with long-distance friends and family
via e-mail and social networking. You can also communicate with millions of
people who share your interests via online forums, chat, and Mobile
telephones such as Facebook. Connecting with individuals all around the
world is also a great method to meet people you might never meet
otherwise.

Many of the same things that you would find in a store can be found for the
same or lower price on a website like Lazada or shoppe. You can also have
those products delivered to your door without leaving your house.
To monitor your bank balance and pay bills, you could use an online
banking site. You can get take-out without having to wait in line if your
favorite restaurant has a website. You may locate the shortest route by
viewing online traffic cameras and maps with traffic information. And many
more.
4. Describe Memory Unit.
A computer system's memory unit is a component. It stores data,
instructions, and information. It's also referred to as a
principal/primary/internal memory. Memory is classified into two
categories.

Read-only memory (ROM): A component of the memory unit. This is read-

only memory that cannot be written to.
Random-access memory (RAM): RAM is another component of the
memory unit that is used to temporarily store program data.

This unit gives information when other computer units require it. It is
referred to as an internal storage unit, main memory, primary storage, and
Random Access Memory (RAM). Its size influences its speed, power, and
capacities. There are two types of memories in a computer: primary
memory and secondary memory.
5. What is the concept of Computer-Number system? Explain it.

Number systems are mathematical frameworks that allow computers

to understand and represent numbers in various ways. A number is a
mathematical value that is used to count and measure items as well
as execute arithmetic computations. Natural numbers, whole
numbers, rational and irrational numbers, and so on are all types of
numbers. Similarly, multiple number systems with differing qualities
exist, such as the binary number system, the octal number system, the
decimal number system, and the hexadecimal number system.
