Yeast Race

Materials:
● Yeast (maya/дрожжи)
● Sugar
● Flour
● Water
● 4 tall drinking glasses
● A ruler
● A timer

Instructions / Method:
1. Label the glasses A, B, C & D.
2. Put four dessert spoonfuls of flour into glasses B & C.
3. Dissolve the yeast in a little warm water.
4. Pour one quarter of the yeast solution into glass A.
5. Mix one quarter of the yeast solution into glass B. (It should look like a thick milkshake.)
6. Mix some sugar into the remaining yeast solution.
7. Mix half of the remaining yeast solution into glass C.
8. Pour the remaining yeast solution into glass D.
9. Measure the heights of the solutions in each class with your ruler.
10. Put the mixtures in a warm but not hot place. (As if you were making bread.)
11. Measure and record the heights of the solutions again after 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30
minutes.
