SUMMARY SURVEY ON 3RD FLOOR BE BUILDING

Because of the age of the structure, we saw many casualties as soon as we

inspected the third floor. They have 35 rooms, 7-8 staff members working the
area, several CCTV cameras like 5, and 1 faculty. The BE Building's third floor was
equipped with five fire alarms, three fire hoses, four restrooms (two for boys and two for
girls), and a 2-fire exit, which is the most useful when disasters strike.

We also noticed that at the very end, one room has two cctvs, there are areas that
are very dark, they have 3 restricted rooms only for the personnel can enter A large
window that is in the corridor nearby is very dangerous because there is a tendency that
when there are many people there, it can be broken, and someone might fall there.
Make sure that only the one used is hardiflex.

RECOMMENDATION

we all know that all buildings will become old. So, in order to have a wonderful
building it needs to renovate because there are many casualties in the BE building, the
materials used must be standard so that they will not be damaged immediately.

While we were walking, we noticed a big window that was just a glass and what
was holding it was only hardiflex so it was very dangerous, so I recommend that the
bottom should have a cement wall and the one who holds the window will become
cement not hardiflex so that the students is safe on that area. Second is that they don't
have an emergency light in the area, so I recommend that you stay there because
especially to those areas that its very dark. Also in exit, lacks of grills it seems like UM is
saving because we don't know when an earthquake will come, the area where the
emergency exit located might be crowded, and someone might get hurt. There are
places that are dark, thus additional lighting is needed there since there are also people
that pass by on that area. This is carried out to avoid accidents.
