Drawing each situation and applying the Trigonometric Functions solve each problem.

a) A 12-foot ladder leans against a wall at a 60º angle to the ground. How far is the foot of the ladder
from the base of the wall? And how high is the top of the ladder?

b) When an airplane ascends, its path is directly above the runway forming an angle of 30º
with it. How high does it rise when traveling 1200 feet in the air?

c) Two farmers meet at points A and B on the bank of a river, 250 feet apart from each other;
Another farmer stands on the opposite bank of the river at point C, directly in front of point B. If
between points B and C they form an angle of 60º at A, what is the width of the river?

d) A man sees from a telephone pole that has a height of 5 meters his car on the street, which has
a length of 4 meters, located on the same sidewalk where the pole is located; Furthermore,
this car is 2 meters from the base of it. What angle is formed at the far end of the car from the
ground to where this man is?

e) Find the angle of elevation of


the sun if a 45-foot monument casts a 36-foot shadow.
