Learning Task 2: Go back to the controversial piece of news or issue you
used at the start of the lesson and fill out the table below.
“Mga kaso ng COVID-19 posibleng umabot na sa 1-Milyon bago matapos
ang Abril.”
Selection Criteria Questions to ponder
Reliability Based on the OCTA research group, our number of COVID-19 cases is expected to reach 1 million this April 30, and as of now (April 28, 2021), we already have 1,1,020,495020,495 COVID-19 case. These news details are true, which is verified by the researchers and it shown on the data. Accuracy The news about COVID-19 cases is measurable which is taken down by our DOH (Department of Health) and it was written based on facts that is unbiased. But still, at this time, we can never be sure what is true because it might be manipulated or something. Value I think everyone will find this article valuable because we have to be updated and informed concerning COVID-19. It is about one year and a couple of months now since we have our first case, and we should worry about how our responses to this pandemic being effective or not. Authority The article came from ABS-CBN news. Based on the OCTA research group, and DOH confirmed the news regarding COVID-19 cases. OCTA is polling, research, and consultation firm while DOH stands for Department of Health, which these two are completely related to the article. Timeliness The article was written on April 20, 2021 and I think it’s not possible that these article will change in time because it is based on the state of patients that is being listed by DOH.
