CNC Lathe & Milling M/c Operation and Programming

Program Details:

This course is designed to provide the participants with complete knowledge relevant to the Computer
Numerical Control Machines. It is specially designed to provide hands on training with the Industrial standard
CNC lathe and CNC Milling machines with FANUC & DENFORD control systems. In general the course
would cover the following topics;

 Introduction to CNC Lathe and CNC Milling Machine

 Axes designation
 Fundamentals of G and M codes pertaining to FANUC and DENFORD control systems
 Cutting tool selection/parameters and tool/wear offset settings
 Machining and operations of CNC machines
 Development of manual part programming for Industrial components
 Concepts of Advanced cycles, profile roughing and finishing cycles
 Development of computer aided part programming [CAPP] using MasterCAM and QuickCAM
 Familiarization with different modes/machine controls available in the machine
 Simulation and interference check using virtual reality software’s
 Manufacturing of components using CNC lathe/milling M/c, troubleshooting and maintenance

Target Participants:

The course would suit any individual working professionals or organizations who are interested in sending
groups of staff for training. Ideally, participants shall be diploma holders and engineering graduates, CNC
operators, practicing technicians.

Learning outcomes:

This course is designed to impart participants with the skills and practice on CNC programming, CNC machine
operation and manufacturing of components and assembly using CNC lathe and milling machines. Participants
will acquaint adequate hands on experience in programming, operations, manufacturing and maintenance of
CNC lathe/milling machines to produce a range of engineering models.

Pre- requisites:

Basic knowledge on conventional machines, operations, tools and work holding devices.

Training Methodology:

Includes theory classes with LCD projectors, power point presentation, job card assessments, Videos and
practical demonstrations.
