RULE IV-VI Activity
RULE IV-VI Activity
following fire zone designations are appropriate for the type of construction.
Based on Rule V of the IRR, how will you respond to the client in each of the
following scenarios? Identify first the type of construction.
Fire-Restrictive Zone
Answer: Its a type III construction and It's allowable to build this kind of construction if
the building is a type V construction so this construction shall be 3 hour fire-resistive to
prevent the other building or houses to be burnt because this is a Highly Fire-
resteictive Zone.
Highly Fire-Restrictive Zone
Amswer: its a type IV construction and Yes! I will encourage them to build this kind of
construction as long as they will follow the rules on what to do in constructing a
building in a highly fire-restrictive zone.
As a Civil Technologist, the client asks for your knowledge of the following
changes of construction. Based on Rule IV-V of the IRR, how will
you respond to the client in each of the following scenarios?
Scenario 4: The client wants to change his/her house from photo 1 to photo 2.
Is she/he allowed to do so? Why or why not?
No, because the type of construction he/she want to change to is not fire-resistive the
first one is better because as you can see the materials used is metal, masonry and
wood though its still vulnerable to fire because of the wood but otherwise its more safe
that the Photo 2.
Scenario 5: The client wants to change his/her house from photo 1 to photo 2. Is
she/he allowed to do so? Why or why not?
Yes! Its allowable to let them build this kind of construction because as I can see the photo 2 materials
used is fire-resistive so there will be no problem in changing his/her house to that kind of construction.
