Speaking Practice 11

Hi Mum,
It’s long overdue,
But it’s time that you knew,
Just how special to me you really are…
‘Cus I know I’m a pain,
And sometimes slightly insane,
So thanks for never making me feel too bizarre…
As a child I knew
I could turn to you
And have you wave your magic wand…
To banish all pain,
Bring back light again,
And prepare me for what lay beyond…
From bad magic shows,
To awful choices in clothes,
You always encouraged me to be unique,…
And through temper tantrums,
from teenage years to come,
You were there, no matter how bleak…
Your patience knows no end,
For that, you I must commend
For I know I can be quite a handful,…
But you’ve taught me,
The most important degree,
How to empathise and care for people…
You’re the kindest I know,
So selfless you glow,
And a constant joy to be around…
And if I grow,
To be half the woman you are I know
That my reflection will be quite profound…
You're my mother,
My friend, I would choose no other,
So thank you for simply being you...
The best Mum in the world.

Happy Mother’s Day
