RESEARCH PITCH DECK NEEDED:

SNAKE DETECTOR
Our Snake Detector Simulator will detect snakes without employing thermal contrast; instead, we
will use an infrared imaging sensor that can be used both during the day and at night with
illumination to boost detection, even if snakes such as pythons have not been basking. All of the
information presented on the detector's screen is reliable because it will be provided by websites
that we have collaborated. The Infrared Imaging sensor, Semiconductor Memory, Battery, and
(FLIR) Infrared Lens, LED and receiver are the main components of our product. Lead (II) sulphide,
Mercury cadmium telluride, Indium, Indium arsenide, Indium gallium, Lead selenide, Platinum
silicide, Silicon, and Germanium will be the other components on making the device.
PARTS
Infrared near Image Sensors- When recognizing snakes, imaging created by sensing
electromagnetic radiations generated or reflected from a specific target surface in the infrared
region of the electromagnetic spectrum (about 0.72 to 1,000 microns) can be observed and stored
Semiconductor memory - is a digital electronic semiconductor device used for storing snakes
information and data regarding its characteristics and location.
Electronic Signal- In electronics, a signal is an electric current or electromagnetic field used to
convey data from one place to another. This electronic signal will produce a not so loud noise on the
device after scanning the properties of the snake. This noise will not scare away the snakes since,
Snakes can only hear a specific frequency range. Because high frequencies are largely conveyed
through the air, they can hear low frequencies but not high frequencies.
LED- Active infrared sensors both emit and detect infrared radiation. Active IR sensors have two
parts: a light emitting diode (LED) and a receiver. When an object comes close to the sensor, the
infrared light from the LED reflects off of the object and is detected by the receiver.
Battery- will be the source of power of the device, this is to ensure the device’s handy feature.
Specific battery like will be the mode of energy. We will be using a specific battery and that is
Enegitech 9V Lithium Batteries that could give you 10 years of shelf life in storage.
TARGET AUDIENCES/Market
People who reside in provinces, mountain campers, and snake researchers are among our target
groups. Because it can enable people living in remote places, particularly in provinces, become
more aware of snakes and obtain more knowledge and information about them in person, the cost
of the innovation will be pricey, but the target populace will surely be able to finance the invention
because it can be employed as an investment or as a source of Labor.

DIFFERENCE FROM THE EXISTING DEVICE

With the use of infrared near Image sensor, we would be able to detect or track snake even python
species of snake can be detected without relying on thermal contrast since some species of snakes
have kept on evolving and some snakes species have holes on their faces called pit organs, which
contain a membrane that can detect infrared radiation from warm bodies up to one metre away
which are common in our country but is sometimes seen. With the use of infrared near image
sensor, the snake that has been detected will eventually be programmed on the device. All the
information of types of snakes, whether they are venomous and non-venomous is based on the
research we undertake. Lastly, we have the electronic signal which produces a not so loud noise
that will illuminate when the sensor detects the programmed images and characteristics of the
snake in the device.
Our device will be unlike any other device that has ever existed. We wanted to know all types of
snake species that were living in the wild forests and provinces of the Philippines, and at the same
time we wanted to protect them and the people who lived there by giving them information and
keeping them aware of where these animals live and whether they are venomous or non-venomous.
The Snake Snap App was created in the United States, but their creativity was limited to
investigating and providing information on the snakes that are common in their country, using an
app that was put on their devices. In contrast to their innovation, we stayed focused on our major
goals. We would like to conduct a research on 175 snake species found in the Philippines not only
the common ones. Because the climate in our tropical country is also humid, infrared image sensory
is a good fit. Our innovation will automatically recognize different varieties of poisonous and non-
venomous snakes in the Philippines provinces as long as it is programmed in our gadget, but the
present equipment can only scan common snakes in their area. For our equipment to be as
successful as possible, the location of venomous and non-venomous snakes must also be
programmed or previously stored in a semiconductor memory for data sharing and collaboration.
Some snake sites are not found on the internet platform but are known to exist in a tropical
location, which is why we decided to do further research using our new innovation and collaborate
with websites to aid us in discovering the particular site or areas where these snake species can be
found.
ESTIMATED COSTING
Our Major components have a rough estimation of ₱24,350 in terms of overall total of the major
components’ prices, and for the minor components, they have around ₱800 per kilo. There are 10
minor components needed for the device multiplied by ₱800 is equal to ₱8,000 pesos.
Approximately, ₱8,000 pesos will be needed for the minor components and that would be exact for
5 devices. For 1 device, the minor components will need roughly around ₱2,000. For the body of the
device, we will be needing 70 kilos for 5 devices that equivalents to ₱9,000. Thus, a total of ₱43,350
Php is computed for all components, both major and minor, including the body of the device.
Furthermore, our innovation might be pricey for you but our innovation can help those people
living in provinces that has been encountering snakes and this can be employed as an investment or
for Labor. The target population will undoubtedly be able to purchase the device.
