ESSAY
Our society's backbone is communication. It enables us to build bonds, influence
decisions, and inspire change. The ability to grow in the workplace and in life would be
practically impossible without communication skills. The ability of humans to
communicate via codified language systems distinguishes us from other living creatures
on the planet. Although it is arguable if these language standards make us superior to
other creatures, there is little doubt that the most successful and powerful people
throughout history have acquired the ability to communicate successfully. Speaking is
such a vital talent that it has been formally taught for thousands of years. For many
people, giving a speech in front of an audience is one of their greatest fears.

An excellent speech start must meet a number of criteria. First and foremost, an
effective speech introduction must have an opening that will capture the attention of the
audience. Second, it must contain a body that explains why the speaker has selected
this or that subject, whether he has the necessary qualifications to talk on it, whether
this subject is appropriate for the audience, and whether this time is appropriate for
debate. Finally, an effective speech introduction must include a conclusion that allows
the speaker to begin the presentation. It is critical to conclude the introduction with
some fascinating information about the topic. The speech title, topic, and objectives are
among the other prerequisites for the introduction.

Public speaking has always been a struggle for many people; it necessitates a
variety of approaches and methods to ensure that your audience isn't bored by your
speeches or that they are enthralled by every word you say. Ramona Smith's public
speaking is an example. She completed the circle by bringing it all together. She shared
life lessons acquired with wisdom, humor, and encouragement, demonstrating how
determination, tenacity, and perseverance helped her achieve her goals. Whereas
some might have given up after such terrible defeats, she returned to the arena and
eventually won the trophy. Her self-assurance is at a level that no one else has. Smith
told her life tale in a polished and entertaining manner, using a boxing analogy to
explain various strikes she had received from life. The 31-year-old spoke about her
struggles in college, the grief she felt after her brief marriage ended, and the sadness
she felt after losing in the International Speech Contest after a string of promising wins
in 2015. Throughout her six-minute speech, the message of finding strength in adversity
stood apparent. Her speech is brief, but the message is powerful, and she delivers it
flawlessly. She even got the audience to sing along with her in a song. Her speaking
presentation was innovative, unusual, and inventive, and I felt she did a great job.

Carlo Hornilla makes only a few tiny hand gestures and movements, yet he
delivers a powerful speech with his voice. The ups and downs in volume in his voice
demonstrate that he gives it his all and with such finesse. Carlo is a proud Batangueno
whose talent was discovered because of his spoken word piece "Adik sa bato."   It was
delivered in a comedic manner, but it aggressively examines the government's War on
Drugs campaign's collateral effects. My favorite quotation is: “Kinakabahan lang talaga
ako kapag gumagamit na ako… Kasi bukod sa posibilidad na sa Tatay mo pala ‘to
(bato), ang talagang punto ng tula ay kung gaano kadaling mapagkalaman sa
panahong ito…”

Poker players are the only ones who can pull off a deadpan demeanor. A good
speaker understands the importance of suitable facial expressions in efficient
communication. In fact, facial expressions are frequently the most important indicator of
the message's meaning. During a presentation, people pay attention to the speaker's
face. When you speak, your face communicates your attitudes, feelings, and emotions
to your audience more clearly than any other area of your body. Sherrie Su, a Tianjin,
China, teacher, gave a reflective speech titled "Turn Around." She discussed her
strained relationship with her parents as a youngster, as well as her apprehension about
becoming close to a fellow Toastmaster who would later become her husband. I admire
how her face communicates her attitude, feelings, and emotions to me more clearly
than any other portion of her body. Her facial expressions are the most important factor
in determining the meaning of her communication. Her message was about addressing,
rather than avoiding, frightening situations. Su exhorted the crowd to be courageous:
“Are you turning your back on your fear? Our life is like this stage. What scares you now
may bring you the most beautiful thing. Give it a chance.”
