A Path to Retain the Trainees for a long duration:

The Training Process: Proposed

Training timetable:

• 90 Minutes of Training per day-either after or before shifts The Training curriculum is flexible, we propose
• Optional weekend classes for interested student to cover 3 type of training
• Semester examinations every 6 month conducted by DGT/Medhavi
1. Training for the trade outcome as required by
Training Center: NCVT or Medhavi Skills University

• Will be setup in the factory or in the vicinity


• Comprise of fully equipped workshop and classrooms 2. Deliver Training of behalf of the Samsung

• This will help them get an industry recognized certification while they work

3- Productivity & shop floor continuity of manpower:


• Identification & retention of skilled manpower.
• Industry mostly recruits apprentices or contractual manpower over and above the stable workforce.
• First job for most students is never longer than 1 yr – lack of continuity affects productivity as new staff are recruited for the same role
• Gives industry partner an opportunity to identify skilled resources & ensure their retention over a longer duration of time (e.g 10th)

4- Alternative to contractual workers & temporary staffing while being 100% labour law compliant:
• Provides an alternate to temping where stipend is routed through Medhavi Skills which also mobilizes, trains & manages pay roll.
• Replace contract workers on shop floor and supplement the apprenticeship program without any restriction on numbers of students
(10% rule) who can continue as student trainees for 2 years.

5- Cheaper cost & ease of recruitment of manpower
