AIMS Institute of Management Studies was established in year 2009 under the patronage of
Founder Chairman Dr. (Hon) Manish A Sinha and as a part of KRSNA Educational Trust. At
AIMS we aim to reshape the attitude of students to facilitate them to work on jobs they fit best.

AIMS Institute of Management Studies, Pune in association with Tata Institute of Social
Sciences, Mumbai under its flagship program, the National University Students' Skill
Development (NUSSD) Program provides additional Training & Certifications in various
domains to improve the employability of our students.

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), in consultation with the Ministry of Youth
Affairs & Sports (GoI) and the National Skill Development Agency (NSDA), started a
project, titled ‘The National University Students Skill Development Programme (NUSSD)
by introducing “Skill Training” for college students, so that the graduating youth acquire
job related skills through immersive projects.

The NUSSD is aligned to the SDGs set by the United Nations and finds its
mandate particularly interlinked to the fulfilment of SDG 4 (Quality Education)
and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) directly, and many other goals
indirectly as well.

In recognition of the efforts and impact, the United Nations (UN) Steering
Committee on Children and Youth recognised the NUSSD Programme as a
“Skill Development Best Practice” in the country.

PLACEMENT SUPPORT
The AIMS – NUSSD Program engages the Corporate throughout the lifecycle of the Program in
a way that is mutually beneficial to the Company and our students. The program is positioned
to reduce the onboarding burden on Companies, in the area of Domain Skills training.

NUSSD adopts a phased approach to engaging Corporates in the entire training and
placement lifecycle. The first step is to establish contact and discuss on areas of similarity,
concurrence and engagement between NUSSD and the Company. This leads to a detailed
diagnosis of the Company profile, requirement, gaps in employable youth population and the
training need. NUSSD then creates a plan for collaborative engagement wherein NUSSD trains
students in specific domain skills and the Company contributes to practical exposure for
students during the training in the form of Field visits, live projects, internships and Guest
lectures / workshops. Eventually, the students are skilled in the specific domain and the
Company has a trained pool of resources to recruit from. The Company conducts the final
placements and students benefit in the form of gainful employment.
