Doubt Clearance Sessions

The students at Aakash find the doubt clearing sessions quite helpful. During doubt clearing

hours, students can ask any doubt on any topic from the respective subject teachers.

Tests and Assignments

Aakash Assignments give Aakashians a remarkable edge over others. The students are

supposed to try the set of problems given at the end of every topic on their own without the

support of the teachers. This happens on a routine basis. Aakash Assignments ensure that the

students concentrate on two of the most important factors necessary to crack the toughest

exams that are subject knowledge and regular practice of the subject with a clear-cut

objective of time management and minimizing errors as the studies progress. Our

assignments are well known for improving concepts, reducing errors, enhancing

concentration, boosting test scores, and above all ensuring selection in the Entrance Exams.

Motivational Sessions

Aakash conducts motivational classes from time to time to inspire students to make them a

winner. Our Honorable Chairman, Mr. J.C. Chaudhry himself conducts such sessions and

makes sure that each student gets motivated to face competitive Exams confidently.

22
Parent-Teacher Meetings

Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) in Aakash is an integral part of our education delivery and

feedback system. We frequently invite parents to meet with their ward’s respective teachers

to understand their performance closely. This is also an opportunity for Aakash to get in

touch with the parents and motivate them to help Aakash and its students achieve the

common goal of qualifying in Entrance exam selection. Another important advantage is that

parents can directly meet the teachers and know about the weak areas of their child.

Disciplined and Focused Learning Environment

With more than 200 centers spread across India, Aakash is a leader when it comes to

coaching students for Medical and Engineering Exams. Aakash follows proper work ethics

and has a positive environment where an individual can learn and grow. Aakash has

motivated and guided lakhs of aspirants, who are serving the nation as eminent Doctors and

Engineers.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

 To study the marketing strategy of the company

 To study the marketing evolution in Aakash’s the Ed-Tech Company

Great Business Marketing Strategies for Ed-Tech

As a company that focuses on technology for education, you understand that there are no grade

levels where a teacher goes in without a plan. Marketing is no different. In today’s world, the

number of marketing tactics is countless and not all these tactics will work for your business,

especially in education technology. No matter what type of product you are providing as a

service, you will always need a strategy in place. If you were to go into battle without a strategy

in place, what do you think will happen? Marketing professionals need to understand their

audience before marketing efforts are initiated so that they are successful in achieving their

goals in attaining quality leads. You want to be able to make a strategy that caters to your

audiences wants and needs so that you can secure your customer properly.

As I worked on the AESL I came to know that this is even excellent company but there is

problem in selling strategy adopted by the salesperson and Some customer are not satisfy by

ACQUISITION

Byju’s is acquiring tutorial chain Aakash Educational Services Ltd (AESL) in a cash and
stock deal estimated at $950 million, sealing its largest buyout. India’s most-valued edtech
startup snagged coding tutor WhiteHatJr in a $300-million deal amid the pandemic last year.

Byju’s buyout of AESL is also among the largest acquisitions by an Indian startup — bigger
than Snapdeal’s purchase of Freecharge for $400 million in 2015 and Flipkart’s acquisition of
Myntra for an estimated $330 million in 2014.
This acquisition (AESL) will help Byju’s cross the $1 billion mark in revenues for the next
financial year. We are looking at closing the next year at $1.2-1.3 billion in revenues.AESL
will continue to operate as a separate entity, according to its managing director Aakash
Chaudhry, who said, “Together with Byju’s, we will work towards building an omnichannel
learning offering that will accelerate the test prep experience. “

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Market research can be split into two distinct sections: primary and secondary.

They can also be known as field and desk, respectively (although this terminology feels out

of date as plenty of primary research can be carried out from your desk).

Primary (field) research

Primary market research is research you carry out yourself. This could include running your

own focus groups or conducting surveys. The ‘field’ part referring to going out into the field

to get data.

Secondary (desk) research

Secondary market research is research carried out by other people that you want to use. This

could include studies carried out by researchers or financial data released by companies.

Market research methods

The methods in this list cover both areas. Which ones you want to use will depend on your

aims. Have a browse through and see what fits.

Focus groups

A simple concept but one that can be hard to put into practice.

You get a bunch of people into a room, record them, and ask them about whatever you want.

For some it’ll be new product ideas, for others it might be views on a political candidate.

36
From these discussions, the organizer will try to pull out some insights, or use it judge the

wider society’s view on something. Generally the participants will be chosen based on certain

criteria, such as demographics, interests, or occupation.

A focus group’s strength is in the natural conversation and discussion that can take place

between participants (if they’re done right).

In comparison to a questionnaire or survey that have a rigid set of questions, a focus group

can go off on tangents the organizer could not have predicted (and therefore not planned

questions for). This can be good in that unexpected topics can arise, or bad if the aims of the

research are to answer a very particular set of questions.

The nature of discussion is important to recognize as a potential factor that skews the

resulting data. Focus groups can encourage participants to talk about things they might not

have otherwise, and they might be impacted by others in the group or the presence of the

researcher. This can also affect unstructured one-on-one interviews.

Surveys

In survey research. Survey questions are given to respondents (in person, over the phone,

emailed, or an online form). Questions can be close-ended or open-ended. As far as close-

ended questions go, there are many different types:

 Dichotomous (two choices, such as ‘yes’ or ‘no’)

 Multiple choice

 Checkbox

 Rating scale

37
 Liker scale (common version is five options between ‘strongly agree’ and ‘strongly

disagree’)

 Matrix (options presented on a grid)

 Demographic (asking after info such as gender, age, or occupation)

Surveys are massively versatile because of the range of question formats. Knowing how to

mix and match them to get what you need takes consideration and thought. Different

questions need the right set up.

It’s also about how you ask. Good questions lead to good analysis. Writing clear, concise

questions that abstain from vague expressions and don’t lead respondents down a certain path

can help your results reflect the true colors of respondents.

There’s a ton of different ways to conduct surveys as well, from creating your own from

scratch or using tools that do lots of the heavy lifting for you.

Observation

As per the methodology the implementation for the outcome of the finalize result of the data

as shown. The survey taken through the promotion of aakash educational institute in Nagpur

via verbal communication.

Marketing strategy

We advertise our brand and services through different media including print, radio, television

advertisements, social media, search engines and other outdoor media. We also market

through various promotional materials such as handbills, flyers and brochures. Further, we

conduct seminars for parents and students to enhance our brand awareness and introduce

them to the features of our services. With growth & success comes not only huge

responsibility but also immense pressure to sustain the brand name. We assure media,

parents, our associates and partners that we will always aim to have a true and authentic

approach. Any feedback that could improve our Education Delivery System is taken in a

positive spirit.

Every year brings forth positive and encouraging news for us. We think that we are not only

praised by media for our result oriented approach & for continued achievements but also for

our contribution to the society. From time to time, we undertake various marketing and

advertising campaigns to increase our brand awareness. We attract a majority of our students

via the ACST, the ANTHE and the NEST. We provide scholarships for qualifying students

from these tests to enroll in our programs.

Media plays an important role in the recognition of any organization. Since our inception, we

believe the media has talked about our efforts in improving our Education System, especially

at the Competitive and school levels. Our brand is widely known in the Education Field in

India. We believe that the quality of our educational content and the effectiveness of our

teaching methodologies, as evidenced by the number of selections of our students, have made

us one of the top choices for students intending to qualify for Undergraduate Medical and

Engineering Courses.

48
One strategy that has been present throughout the history of marketing is outbound

marketing. This style of marketing takes the forms of ads for television, phone calls, print,

and radio, as well as other forms for reaching out to your audience. You are basically fishing

in a lake of consumers in hopes you will attain a few quality leads. The issue with Outbound

is that not everyone is interested in what you have to offer, so that fish in the lake might not

be hungry. In reality, this might work for some businesses that stand out from the rest, but in

the Education Technology industry, one should consider Outbound marketing continuously

while focusing on another marketing approach.

That other marketing approach is called inbound marketing! Inbounds approach to marketing

is right up any Education Technology’s industry because you are providing, relevant, useful

information that your consumer/readers see as a value. You are educating your audience on

solutions that can help their need or want, outlining how your service comes in to save the

day. When utilizing this method, you will help attract website visitors, organically. You are

able to convert those visitors into quality leads, followed by closing those leads into paying

customers. After they become a paying customer, your final job is to secure your customer

retention rates by delighting your customers so they can speak highly of you to their

colleagues. Providing quality content to you and smartest approach to marketing. Why?

Aside from what we just went over, you are addressing the needs of the consumer. You

understand what your ideal buy rs are going through and how you can help them. You want

your customer’s happy, right? Educating’s focusing on in bound efforts, you are literally

helping and below are the 4 critical phases of developing a Content & Inbound Strategy to

create customer cantered content.

49
1. Self-assessment

2. Buyer Personal Development

3. Buyer Journey Mapping

4. Inbound Campaign Setup

5. The Bottom Line

Marketing Funnels
A marketing funnel is basically a sequence of steps that a prospect takes from the time they
first hear about your business to the time they decide to become paying customers. Establishing
a marketing funnel sequence is one of the most valuable things you can do to boost your
conversion rates. At a basic level, marketing funnels consist of three phases Awareness,
interest, evaluation, and decision.

 Awareness
At the top of the funnel we have the awareness stage. This is the stage at which customers
become aware of your product or business. Top of the funnel marketing materials could include
content marketing, inbound marketing, referrals, events, SEO, SEM, paid advertising, and
more. Marketing at this stage of the funnel is aimed at reaching the largest number of potential
customers as possible.

 Interest

Next, you have the interest stage, where you get customers who have moved on from the
awareness phase and are now interested in your product. Marketing materials at this stage
would be more educational — consisting of webinars, e-books, e-mail marketing campaigns,
white papers, case studies, etc.

50
 Evaluation
After customers have become aware of your product and are definitely interested, they start

evaluating it against competitors. Marketing materials at this stage might be demo videos and

samples.

 Decision

Finally, it comes time to actually make the decision to buy. At this commitment stage,
marketing materials can include product demos, free trials or sales calls.

51
Increasing numbers of students are shifting towards a hybrid mode of learning.

When it comes to EdTech, think from the perspective of a parent. They are not that

comfortable in sending their children to institutes which are beyond a particular radius of

their home. Which is why there is an increase in the market to move to hybrid learning.

In small cities, there is a lack of large players who can coach people or students for JEE

preparation. In far-front cities of India, Students also aspire to become engineers and doctors,

but they don’t have the right medium. This is where the Edtech solution of Akash by BYJU’S

comes into play and ensures to offer products to tier three, tier four, and tier five markets.

52
In the past year, many offline services have become available online. For example, students

can get help from teachers without having to wait for a class to start.

The Akash app was launched after the acquisition of its digital business by BYJU’S. The app

has since amassed over 10 million downloads and has a 4.1 rating on the app store. The app

provides a platform for students to connect with teachers and get their doubts clarified

without having to wait for a class.

53
The endeavor has been constantly to innovate on offerings to consumers, make sure to be

ahead of the curve in terms of giving technology solutions and on making sure that the

content is being operated on.

The app is one of the top funnels for Akash BYJU’S. To make sure that the app reaches the

user, they have deployed multiple strategies. For example,

 Running universal ad campaigns on Google and Android to share information with

consumers about the app.
 Having a tender trial class feature on the app.
 Investing a lot in YouTube channels to optimize the teacher’s bandwidth. There are
multiple series on YouTube that educate students on the most difficult concepts.
 Running a lot of engagement campaigns to show the content that consumers are
searching for.
 Working on SEO traffic works wonders for apps as well as for websites.

57
CONCLUSION

In my intern days study on the sales and marketing activities and its effectiveness

on Aakash Institute Nagpur . I have concluded that:

Most of the customers buying decisions are depend on the qualities and lowest

Price of the product. Aakash Institute provides education courses, and according to

me this is the main reason why people don’t show interest in this. This is so

because as we know in India, people don’t believe in everyone in education

field. But the employees in Aakash Institute work really very hard to gain response

from the people and they are doing really well.
