1. Is it possible to attain the 17 SDGs in the Philippines?

The Philippines is considered as a third-world country and one of the poorest one on
ASEAN wherein something the citizen shouldn’t be entirely proud of. We are moving on
a slow pace and can’t entirely keep up with how the world evolves. Although the
Philippines acquired several government development goals that each regime focused on
these doesn’t entirely eradicate the predicament related to these aspects. And in my
observation with the today’s setting regarding the diverse chaotic situation happening,
attaining the 17 SDGs will be an unimaginable. Especially that the election clarifies the
Marcos’ landslide win and these expound how stupid these Filipinos decisions are. There
are dominant pests scattered on Philippine society such as poverty, hunger, health issues,
poor education, and such that weren't even a slightest bit minimized even on his late
father's authorities. And more importantly, highlighting the rise of deaths during those
times. The SDGs weren't concentrated yet should be solved in a form of cooperative
tandem between the government and the citizens. As to what I solely credited that there
should be a "big action to see a difference" thus, due to the other factors such as
ignorance, stupidity, ulterior motive, selfishness, and egoistic characteristics of these
Filipinos made it even more harder for the Philippines to fully experience the
development goals the United Nations envision for the better world, especially to a poor
country such as ours. Lastly, the impossibility is seriously at a high stake even for a good
governance because it needs to be sustain continuously and it will only be effective after
a long run and certainly, again, with a big action.

2. If the SDGs are relevant in the PH, how is it implemented?

As much as I wanted these SDGs to be dominantly effective to the Philippines, it's a bit
difficult to perceive it due to the impossibility. We know that there are several programs
that relates to these SDGs yet, there are only few benefactors that profited from it and
these rates are low which continuously described the Philippines situation. However,
perhaps in a utopian multiverse that these SDGs are truly and efficiently relevant in
Philippines, despite the minor conflicts, the effectiveness will be felt diversely by every
Filipino citizen. Contrary to the first answer, in order to experience these goals. There
needs to be a clean and good governance handling the country along with reliable
cabinets and local government that maneuver each regions following the regulations
properly and with humanity. For short, no corruptions involved. If the Philippine officials
granted the sugarcoated promises they bid then we will be able to get the grasp of these
SDGs and its potentials. There will be plenty of programs implemented on LGUs and
there are action plans that they created and further established. While the country often
 yearn for betterment and advancements on several aspects that the country won’t mind
such conflicts in hindering. Along with the citizens, if they'll see that there's an
improvement then they'll rely more on the government without grudges. Moreover, the
goals will be fulfilled that even a small actions will be seen and highlighted. We know
that there are several actions made complementing the SDGs yet these are still low and
are continuously swallowed by opportunists’ inhumane activities.

3. What SDG should the PH focus on?

Filipinos are fully aware with the situation the Philippines is facing, in all aspects. We are
far behind to other fast-growing countries. Our status is barely rising which is expected.
Whether its education, health, government, communities, and such. The fact that our
fellow countrymen wants to escape this chaotic place, in either migrating and finding
better life on other places or searching for high-paying salary that can sustain his/her
family on the Philippines. These are the factual reasoning that are clearly describing how
poor our economic status is. It’s not something to be proud of, so in my perception,
amongst those seventeen sustainable development goals, the Philippines should focus on
the decent work and economic growth. I know that it shouldn’t be the top priority for our
country however, would like to share some life-based experiences about this which made
me think what if this is efficiently effective here. As one may find out, my father is an
Overseas Filipino Worker since 2013 and actually, most of our clan have those in either
side or perhaps experienced leaving the country to work temporarily or for a short span of
time. And let me tell you, it isn’t a bit easy. My father is a college undergraduate and
with the Philippines’ standard with those individuals will get you to a poor wage
occupation that won’t seriously suffice three children, two college students on private
schools. Yet, even for a graduate, the salary will still be low which is incomparable to
how other foreign countries pay even if they don’t acquire multiple requirements unlike
ours. Thus, concluding simply how broken our system is. So, we should focus as well on
that aspect of our country, the government should be able increase our economic growth
not just solely from capitalism but from also the quality and standard that will be
heightened if there’s an increase of salary visible for all the workers. There should be
enough program that the government offers especially training workshops to those who
are dedicated on working similar to how TESDA works while also, increasing the
minimum wage. Actually, Filipinos are well-capable in adapting to work environments
which have skills that are prominent worldwide. In addition, as an artist and planning to
be a professional in the near future, I’ve yearned to work outside country due to how
underrated our country with art. So that mindset is greatly embedded in myself because
of how they perceived it as not a “decent work”. However, if chances or our economic
status turn 360, then I would want to continuously work here without minding how I’ll
strive my life as an artist.
