Skills Audit Analysis: This section is designed to get you thinking about your own
strengths as well as identifying things you’d like to be better at.
Transferable Skills Analysis: We’re then going to look at skills you feel can be
applied to the course and your career as an Esports professional, which you may have
learned in other aspects of your life.
Identifying and applying effective working practices: Finally, we’ll look at some
established effective working practices which you’ll discuss the importance of. You’ll
then grade yourself out of ten for each one.

Part 1: Look at the twelve skills and place them in order of difficulty, with the most
difficult first (you can do this by cutting and pasting them in order):
Motivation and staying motivated 1 - thinking about what I will get out of
the activity or work
Getting started on work 3 - - thinking about what I will get out of the
activity or work
Memory 4
Time management 5
Working with others 10
Effective use of session time 11
Speaking in front of people 2 – keep doing to help build up confidence
Presentation skills 6
Writing skills 9
Use of IT skills 12
Reading skills 8
Evaluating own work 7
Part 2: Now use the ‘traffic light’ system to highlight which you feel is the most or
least difficult for you (you can do this by changing the text colour)
Red – major priority which needs working on a lot
Amber (or yellow) – difficult, but manageable
Green – confident
Part 3: Write a few lines of what you can do to turn each of the red and amber
priorities into green.
Task 2 - TRANSFERABLE SKILLS CHECKLIST (Do this task on your Weebly
page)
This is the second task. It’s about skills which you can use on the course which
you may have used in other situations…
Creative, Artistic
Leadership
Next, choose ONE transferable skill from each coloured section which you might
identify as being your strongest (you might highlight four skills for Leadership,
but which is your strongest?).
Write a little next to each of these Identifying how you have used each of these
chosen skills AND how this skill might be useful on the Level 3 Esports course.
Team player – making sure that when your working as a team making sure people can
relay on you and everyone is on the same page
Follow instructions – if your working with a client making sure that you follow their
intrusion is key to having a happy customer.
Research – doing research is great for having an understanding of a project that has
been given to you during a lesson. I have done research during lesson when I was put
into a team and told to do a presentation on esports in Singapore.
Draw and sketch – sketch idea or creating rough drifts is a great to visualise ideas and
help other people understand your ideas. In e-sports draw and sketch can be good for
coming up with strategies before a match.
Supportive – when someone being struggling with a problem being supportive is a great
way to help someone build up confidence and being able to try it again. In esports,
being a part of a team means you have to be supportive when a teammate is playing
good or bad and try to help them to build up confidence and they might be able to play
better as well
Logical – on a team being logical when giving out cool out is great because your
teammate will be fully informed and be more aware of how the other team are playing.
Solve problem – being able to solve a problem for example in esports if the other team
is able to counter your plan what could you do in order to stop them form countering
you.
OK, for this one I’d like you to give a brief description of how you can apply
each of the following twenty effective working practices to the Level 3 Esports
course and why these are considered important. Also grade yourself out 10
for each one
1 Punctuality
Making sure that you’re on time it could also mean completing work. being
on time for practise or games is important because if you’re too late you
could be disqualified from the match. 9/10
2 Motivation
Pushing yourself to do someone and being able to complete it to the best
of your ability. When given an assignment being able to motivate yourself
is key to meeting deadlines. 9/10
3 Review your work (at end of session or assignment)
After completing the work that has been set to you reviewing it to see how
you could improve or where you did well is good to understand how to
improve next time. 7/10
4 Plan ahead
If your given a big project to do making sure you plan ahead in order to
have an understanding of where you should at what date and creating
deadline for you is great in order to keep you on track during the project.
8/10
5 Be organised
Being organised is great when creating/editing a video or using photoshop
because if someone has to take over your work for a certain segment
having your work organised and neat is key for them to start quick and not
have to worry about looking for everything. 8/10
8 Prioritise work
Being able to understand what work should take priority over other parts of
the work. During esports if you have multiple projects on hand making sure
the ones with the close’s deadlines should be top priority.
9 If unsure, ask
If you are unsure about something or are stuck, make sure you ask
someone who might know the answer or solution to your problem.
14 Be a team member
When working in a team make sure you can support everyone and help
when you can. Make sure not to take full control of the project because
then people are not able to put forward their ideas.
15 Avoid complaining
Try not to complain able people because it might affect your relationship
with them and might any future projects you might have to do with them
20 Seeing opportunities
Being able to recognise opportunities for you to take to improve your work or further
your carer is good because it will help you be able to put your name out there.
Worksheets can be completed digitally or by hand.
If completed by hand these must be scanned in or photographed to a decent standard.
