as visualizations, models or simulations.

What is the student learning goal(s) for this lesson idea?

Students should be able to produce final products the express the instructions in the Padlet. As long
as the outcomes are positive and the students can recall the roles they have have met the goals.

I want the students to use critical thinking when addressing the the open ended questions. I think
that they can come up with some good ideas that could be helpful in todays time.

How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:

X Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by
teacher direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the stu-
dent and mostly practice based.

☐ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic
of learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The teacher facili-
tates the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

X Problem-based and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems and complet-
ing projects to demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared outside of the
classroom. (Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the school’s morn-
ing newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another class, or publish-
ing via an outside source.)

Lesson idea implementation:

The teacher will teach a unit over the Executive branch of the president. Explain the instructions to
the students, which the students will then go through the Padlet and do the steps 1-5 and complete

each task. To help the students remember the learning goals I will have to remind them to stay focus
and remember that we are learning about the President. Also, make the “I can” statements and have
the reference them throughout the learning. Usually by 3rd grade students are able to name who the
President is so them knowing that piece of information they can relate it to what role they
have. There is one possible real world task question that ask “What you if you were President?” And
that is a possible question because they could be president one day. The students are being assessed
on they Quizziz, it is the quickest way that the feedback will come through because it has an instant
grade that will show what they have learned. And if they miss most of the questions it will show
where reteaching needs to happen. To conclude the lesson, I feel it will be fun to watch the videos
the students made as a class and have the students present the bill they want to pass and their draw-
ings. It will be a fun way to sum up everything and give them a chance to show their work.
Managing student learning:
This tool will allow students to be more active social learners. They are able to communicate with
each other through this platform by responding or interacting with each others post.
I think to the best way to have time management is to have 30 minutes over 2 days and allow the
students to work on this. They do not need a lot of time to complete. And I do not want time taking
forever to complete it which will also cause for students to not work and talk with friends.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

The entire Padlet activity reflects engagement, there are activities that you have to work through
that are fun so they will want to do them. For representation the students have multiple ways they
are able to receive the information, there is a video and a short reading that addresses the topic. Ac-
tion and Expression is shown from the drawing and videos. They have to apply everything they have
learned and make a produce that represents how they feel.
Reflective Practice:
I think that Padlet allows for students to have more a web based interaction which I think is better
since we lived in a digital time. And it is easier to see everything in one place. I think that the part I
am looking forward to the most is the Flip videos on why we should vote them President. Third
graders are funny so I think they would say the most random reason on why they would be a good
candidate.
