both personal and civic.

What is the student learning goal(s) for this lesson idea? Students will learn to navigate Padlet by
following the flow of the different postings. They will be able to communicate with other students
through the comment section, and apply critical thinking skills to the Microsoft Form.

Students will be encouraged to create their own representation of their learnings after completion
of the critical thinking form.
How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:

☐ Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by
teacher direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the
student and mostly practice based.

X Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic
of learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The
teacher facilitates the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

X Problem-based and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems
and completing projects to demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared
outside of the classroom. (Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the
school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another
class, or publishing via an outside source.)

their critical thinking forms. Students will be encouraged to take a classroom vote to connect it to
real world voting. Students learning will be addressed by the critical thinking form. The lesson will
conclude with students completing the form and voting on a classroom poll.
Managing student learning: This will encourage active learning because students will be asked to
participate in critical thinking skills.

Students will be given the weekly social studies time to complete their tasks in the computer lab. On
top of this, a link will be sent home with them, so they can continue learning if they have access to a
computer at home or at a public learning center.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Students with additional learning needs will be engaged with
UDL tools including but not limited to a touch window. A touch window is a sensitive screen device
that turns a normal computer into a touch screen device to assist with one-to-one correspondence.
Reflective Practice: I believe this tool will help students learn more effectively because it appeals to
students aesthetically, as well as an interactive format. It also entertains at the same time as it
engages, which is hard to come by.
