ASSEMBLY
!
In my penguin dolls, the safety eyes go between Rows 15 and 16, with 14 stitches between them.
!
Stuffing this doll was a little trickier than usual, mainly because the neck opening is a lot bigger
than my other dolls. I first stuffed the head nice and full. Next, I stuffed the body as much as I
could. Don’t be afraid to put a lot of stuffing in. You want a nice full and round shape. Next,
attach the beak. Center it carefully and sew it on using the yarn tail. Stuff it with fiber fill before
completely sewing around. Next, sew the head onto the body. If you have a body with the white
belly, make sure the face is centered with the white patch. Before completely sewing all the way
around the neck, add more stuffing to make your penguin as plump as possible! Using your light
gray yarn tail, sew around the neck twice. The arms and feet go on last. Make sure they are
symmetric before attaching.
For the pink headband, I chained 63 and tied the ends in a bow at the
back. Glue a small bow or flower for instant cuteness!

Making neat transitions is key to making a neat looking doll! Here is a small tutorial for those of
you who need it!
In my instructions, I have highlighted the stitches that should be a different color. For example,
consider this line -
This means that the first 5 stitches are done in the first color, the next 3 stitches should be a new
color, and the last 9 stitches should be the first color again.
1. 2.
Make the first 4 stitches using your main color You will now continue your stitch using the new
yarn and then insert your hook into the next color. Draw the new color yarn through both
stitch and draw up a loop as you normally loops.
would.
3. 4.
Continue the next stitch in your new color Make your second stitch, insert your yarn in
and you have made a neat color transition! the following stitch, pull up a loop, and then
Tighten the new stitch by pulling the yarn yarn over with your main color and complete
tails in the back. Cut the main color yarn and the stitch.
tie the two yarn tails together neatly in the
back to stop the stitches from coming loose.
