FOCUS: LISTENING ATTENTIVELY

Objectives: At the end of the activity, the pupils can:

1. listening attentively.

2. Relay the message accurately.

3. Participate in the game actively.

Title of the Activity:

- Message Relay

MATERIAL(S):

- strips of bond paper


- box

Directions:

1. Form a group of 5 members.

2. The first player of each group shall pick a strip of bond paper from the box and memorize the
togue twister on the strip.

3. The first player will pass the tongue twister to the second player by whispering until the last
player receives the message. He/she will recite the togue twister.

4. write on the board for analysis

5. The group who could recite the most accurate message shall be declared winner.

Processing:

1. What preparation did each group do to be able to win the game?

2. Wash there any strategy applied?

3. Which group gad currently recite to togue twister?

4. What might be the reason why the last player was not able to recite the message correctly.

Summary /Application:

- Listening attentively is very important in understanding a message relayed.


- Listening is a sign of respect. We listen not only with our ears but with our
hearts.
- We learn more when we listen.
FOCUS: RESPECT

Objectives: At the end of the activity, the pupils can:

1. Define the meaning of respect and bullying in the perception of grades 1 to 3.

2. Show respect in the context of bullying.

3. Shake hands with the person you hurt (if any) as assign of understanding the word respect.

Title of the Activity:

- Paint me a picture

MATERIAL(S):

- None

Procedure/Activity:

1. Form a group with 3 to 5 members. Then think of a very short role play on how to respect
your classmate by playing “paint me a picture”.

2. With the same group, discuss how you hurt others.

3. Then choose one from the group who will read the list that they made.

Processing:

1. What do you think is the meaning of respect? Bullying?

2. Why is it important to respect others particularly your classmates?

3. Why is it bad to bully your classmates?

Summary /Application:

- “Do you others what you want them to do unto you”


- “Respect begets respect” If we want to be respected, we must first respect
others.
FOCUS: I AM UNIQUE

Objectives: At the end of the activity, the pupils can:

1. Explain one’s good and bad characteristics.

2. Show unique individuality by identifying with animal roles.

3. Discuss unique individuality.

Title of the Activity:

- Animal Farm

Directions:

- Draw an animal that you like best.

- Write about it and share the following:

1. what do I like most with this animal? (The way it looks, moves, what it represents, etc.) what
are its characteristics.

2. what do I dislikes about this animal?

3. How am I similar to this animal?

4. After sharing, discussion comes in.

Processing:

1. What are the good characteristics I have? Explain and give some examples.

2. What are the bad characteristics I have? Explain and give examples.

3. What are we do with our good and bad characteristic?

Summary /Application:

A person, knowing our characteristics is very important, while for animals and other things
around us their characteristics are meaningless. Why is it important for one to know his good
and bad characteristics? How do we improve our bad characteristics?
FOCUS: DISCOVERING ONESELF

Objectives: At the end of the activity, the pupils can:

1. Describe the personality of their superheroes.

2. Express the feeling of becoming a superhero.

3. Draw and color the superhero the pupils opt to be.

Title of the Activity:

- If I am a Superhero

Material(s):

- Bond paper, pencil, crayon

Directions:

1. Draw yourself in your superhero costume.

2. Describe your superhero personality.

3. Express the feeling of becoming a superhero.

4. Don’t forget to color your drawing to make it more beautiful.

Processing:

1. What name would you give to your superhero?

2. What are your special powers?

3. How does it feel to be a superhero?

4. Why did you choose to draw yourself as that on your paper?

Summary /Application:

- All of us want to be someone else and wish we could have characteristics which
are similar to be the superheroes.
- We could also to be a hero to others in our own simple ways.
FOCUS: WORKING TOGETHER

Objectives: At the end of the activity, the pupils can:

1. Demonstrate unity and cooperation.

2. Work in a group I maintaining the cleanliness of the community.

Title of the Activity:

- The stick brooms

Material(s):

- Stick broom

Procedure/Activity:

1. You will be given 1 stick broo each and try to sweep the trashes outside the room.

2. Come back after 2 minutes and get another 10 pieces of stick broom to sweep the trashes
outside.

3. After 2 minutes be back inside the room and get the bunch of stick broom and sweep the
rashes outside.

Processing:

1. Where you able to clean the surroundings using a single stick broom?
How about the 10 pieces of stick broom? What about the bunch of stick broom?

2. How did you clean the trashes outside, alone by or by group?

3. Why is there a need to clean our community?

4. What do you realize when you were sweeping the trashes using a single stick broom and the
10 pieces of stick broom?

Summary /Application:

- There should be a sound unity in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of


the community.

- If everybody works, you could achieve the goals of your community.
FOCUS: HONESTY

Objectives: At the end of the activity, the pupils can:

1. Return the excess change for the items bought in a store.

2. Give the importance of honesty.

3. Role play the given situation independently.

Title of the Activity:

- Mini-Grocery

Material(s):

- Food items and school supplies

Directions:

1. Create mini store inside the room.

2. Display the food items and school supplies previously assigned.

3. Role play the situation wherein a buyer accepted the change with an excess amount to the
items bought.

Processing:

1. What did the buyer buy from the store? How much is his/her money? How much was given
to him or her? How much is his/her supposed change?

2. What did the buyer do the excess change?

3. Did he/her turn or not?

4. What good lesson have you realize from our activity?

Summary /Application:

- Honesty is the best policy. Honesty means telling the truth at all times.
- It can be shown in so many ways such as returning back the excess change,
telling the truth if we accidentally broke something, in returning the thing does
not belong to us.
- Respect other’s belonging.
FOCUS: HUMILY

Objectives: At the end of the activity, the pupils can:

1. demonstrate humility.

2. Realize the importance of saying sorry sincerely.

3. Practice saying sorry sincerely.

Title of the Activity:

- Sorry

Material(s):

- Strips of bond paper

Directions:

1. group yourselves consisting of 3-5 members. A group will be called to pick from the box
containing the pieces of papers where the situations were written. Each group will be given 3
minutes to practice how they will say sorry in a given situation. Three minutes will also be given
for each to show their performances.

2. The situation written on pieces of papers will be folded and picked by the leader of each
group.

3. Role play the situation wherein a buyer accepted the change with an excess amount to the
items bought.

Situations:
a. You had a misunderstanding with your sister/ brother and after some talk, you realized that it
was your fault.

b. You promised your mother that you will go home early after class to finished the task she
asked you to do, but in the afternoon, after class, you went to play with your friends and forgot
your promise.

c. When your father was telling you something, you answered back and raised your voice.

d. While playing with a friend, you hurt him/her.

e. While the teacher was explaining the lesson, you and your seatmate were talking and the
teacher caught you.

f. You accused your friend of getting your candy but after an hour you saw the candy on your
bag. (These situations can be modified to fit the experiences of the pupils to whom this activity
is to be facilitated)
Processing:

1. is it hard to say sorry?

2. How did you feel after saying sorry to a friend you have hurt?

3. Why is it important to say sorry?

4. Can you give better ways on how to say sorry with your facial expressions?

Summary /Application:

- Saying sorry is a very important step in bridging the gap between friends with
misunderstanding. In whatever situation, when the need to say sorry arises, we
should be humble to accept our fault.
FOCUS: RESOURCEFULNESS

Objectives: At the end of the activity, the pupils can:

1. Identify the characters in the story.

2. Appreciate the importance of being resourceful by trying to find means to do the work.

3. Demonstrate resourcefulness in doing a simple task.

Title of the Activity:

- The Crow and the Pitcher

Material(s):

- Stones or marbles
- water
- pitcher

Directions:

1.Read the story of a thirsty crow. (To be printed or presented through a slide)

2. Re-enact what the crow has done to be able to drink in a half-filled pitcher of water using the
materials given.

The Crow and the Pitcher


On a hot summer day, a thirsty crow looked for water to drink. “it’s hot I am thirsty”
said the crow. “I need to find water.”
The crow flew from one place to another looking for water to drink. He finally found a
pitcher near a well. But there was only little water in the pitcher.
He tried to drink from the pitcher but no matter how much he tried; he could not reach
the water.
“My beak is too big. The pitcher’s neck is very narrow. How I will I get the water?’ he
thought.
Then an idea came to the crow. He picked some small stones. He dropped them into the
pitcher one by one.
“One, two three.’ Plop, plip, plop. The water rose some more. Soon the crow could
reach the water.
“Now I can drink” said the crow. “Ah! It’s cold and good!”
Processing:

1. What did the crow see while looking for water to drink?

2. Was the crow able to drink from the pitcher?

3. How did the crow managed to drink from the pitcher?

4. What good trait did the crow show?


5. How would you show resourcefulness?
Summary /Application:

- The crow demonstrated resourcefulness to drink from the half-filled pitcher by


dropping small tones so that the water will rise.
- We often use our skills as means to get or achieve something.
- You can show resourcefulness in simple ways by solving simple problems or
situations such as, you want to get a guava fruit but you can’t climb the guava
tree. What are you going to do? Perhaps, you will get a ladder or use a long stick
to get the fruit. That way you are manifesting / showing your resourcefulness.
FOCUS: GOOD SELF-IMAGE

Objectives: At the end of the activity, the pupils can:

1. Tell something about themselves as what they see in the reflection of the mirror.

2. Infer that self-image is not just the physical appearance.

3. Do different facial expressions in the mirror which could make them beautiful or ugly.

Title of the Activity: Mirror

Material(s):

Mirror

Directions:

1. See yourself on the mirror for a minute.

2. Talk to your reflection for two minutes.

3. Exchange the mirror with anyone in the class.

4. After 30 seconds, do different facial expressions.

Processing:

1. What did you see in the mirror?

2. How do you describe yourself?

3. What did you see in your classmate’s mirror when you used it? Was there any difference
when you used your mirror? Why do you think so?

4. How did you feel when your partner was describing you? Was it the same description you
had yourself?

5. What is beautiful or handsome? Who are beautiful and handsome? Why did you say so?

Summary /Application:
Beauty is useless but character is the best.
Each person is unique.
We are special in different ways.
FOCUS: FAMILY

Objectives: At the end of the activity, the pupils can:

1. Express the deepest love for fathers/mothers.

2. Tell the importance of celebrating Father’s Day and Mother’s Day.

3. Make a card with sincerity.

Title of the Activity:


- Happy Father’s Day
- Happy Mother’s Day

Material(s):

- Bond paper, pencil or pen, coloring materials, decorations

Directions:

1. Write your message on a scrap paper either for their father or mother depending on what is
celebrated.

2. Do a card for your father/mother together with the final message for either of the parents.

Processing:

1. What message came to your mind when the teacher told you to do a card for your
father/mother?

2. When you were making the card, what did you feel?

3. Do you believe your father/mother would feel your love with the card you made?

4. Why do we love our parents? Why do we celebrate Father’s Day or Mother’s Day?

Summary /Application:

Our Parents do all means to provide our needs.

We don’t understand sometimes why they scold us or why they get mad at some things
we do, but at the end of the day they get us to bed and make sure that we are all well.

Our parents discipline us lovingly.

Love your father and mother.


FOCUS: FAMILY (KNOWING MY FAMILY)

Objectives: At the end of the activity, the pupils can:

1. Identify the nearest members of their family.

2. Share family experience.

3. Decorate and present their family tree.

Title of the Activity:


- Family Tree

Material(s):

- coupon bond, pencil or pen, crayons or any material to make the family tree beautiful

Directions:

1. Using the materials that you have make your family tree.

2. Color and decorate it.

Processing:

1. When the teacher asked you to write down the members of your family, whom did you
include? Write down all the members of your family.

2. What are your roles of these family members at home? How about in your daily life?

3. Is there anyone you forgot to include?

4. Can you describe your family to us?

5. Why is it important to have a family?

Summary /Application:

You are safe and secured in the family.

Also, you must understand that aside from the family members you identified, you may
include the other people who are with you every day at home as your family member.
