The National Bank of Kuwait is the largest performing financial institution in Kuwait over
several years. The bank can be classified within the banking sector since it is operates through
transaction of money to its customers (Mariam et al., 2019). The National Bank of Kuwait serves
most individuals in Kuwait since it offers reliable services.

Activities- Operations

Some of the activities carried out in the National Bank of Kuwait are; depositing cash,
withdrawal of money, application of loans and consultation of clients for customer services. The
bank has integrated mobile banking and master cards to simply the process of banking to its
customers (Mariam et al., 2019). The bank is a property of the government of Kuwait hence the
revenue earned for the government.

Products and Services

The National Bank of Kuwait provides banking services in the country. The customers are
therefore served by the accountants and consultants when they want to deposit and withdraw
money (Azmat et al., 2020).. The customer service in the bank also serves to offer advice on
transaction of money, application of loans and saving to the customers.

Competitors

The competitors of the bank compete to acquire larger market of customers in the banking sector
in Kuwait. Competition for the banks in Kuwait involves offering more reliable and efficient
services to the customers to ease banking activities. Some of the competitors of the National
Bank of Kuwait include; Burgan Bank, Gulf Bank, Barclays Bank, Zenith Bank, Ahli United
Bank and Arab Banking Cooperation (Azmat et al., 2020).

I considered applying for internship in this institution since it is considered among the best
performing banks in the Middle East. The bank serves a large number of customers and the
institution is equipped with the adequate resources for serving customers. I therefore feel the
institution will help me acquire effective skills in the commercial banking market. The bank is
also an international company with several branches globally. Therefore I can be able to acquire
knowledge of banking within the international levels and communication while managing the
several branches of a company.

Expectation of the Work Environment

I expect that the work environment at the National Bank of Kuwait to be an ample one which
motivates employees and customers in delivering efficient services. My expectation of the
company is that it has adequate resources and is designed with equipments that offer exemplary
services. I also expect the employees of the company to be in an open office where they are
easily accessible and can be supervised by the manager of the bank.

Expectations of the Leader/ manager style your mentor

My expectations of the leaders and manager of the National Bank of Kuwait, is that they should
be able to effectively manage the employees and the resources in the bank. The manager should
be able to cultivate teamwork within the bank and focus on delivery of efficient and reliable
services. The manager of the bank should be innovative, creative and take risks to acquire
positive results in the market.

Learning Goals to acquire from the Bank

At the end of the internship, I should be able to earn the skill of teamwork in delivering
commercial banking services.
