APPLIED BUSINESS CHALLENGE

Assignment 1B

Assignment Work Allocation Form

Student Information
On September 29, 2022, my team and I presented the results of our project, an
intelligent color palette. Following careful review, Team 8 gave us a flawless score.
However, we did receive some constructive criticism on the quality of our writing, our
presenting skills, and the pace of our presentations, all of which we will address
below.

Part 1: Incomplete function introduction

According to what our instructor pointed out, the substance of our presentation was
lacking the function introduction, which is a very important component of the whole.
All the design of PPT is based on the premise of understanding and optimizing the
content. The ideal way to introduce content is in a way that both provides audience
with additional information about the goods and shows off the introducer's
knowledge. In this way, your message will strike a chord with your target
demographic and will feel as though they have traveled beside you thanks to the
substance of a PowerPoint presentation. When you give a presentation on the subject
of change, it has the potential to motivate the people in the audience to want to change
together with you and to pledge to aid in bringing about such alteration (Masner et al.,
2022). Therefore, it is crucial for us to refine our introduction to the function of the
Intelligent Color Palette.

Part 2: Improvements to the presentation speed

Our speaking rate was not regulated, and it took a considerable amount of time.
Speech should not be too sluggish since it gives people the opportunity to daydream
and gives them the impression of being ignorant, slow, and uneducated. According to
past academic research, the goal of speech speed is to speak at the speed of dialogue.
Don't try to speak at a completely stable speed, measuring each word evenly: this can
seem tedious. The combination of slow, fast, and medium speeds will make your
presentation more engaging. In short, the pace of presentations should not always be
the same. We must talk with a steady, eloquent, and logical cadence (Jarraya, 2019).
Part 3: Improvements to the presentation skills
We too have an issue with the absence of motion in our PowerPoint presentations,
which can render the entire presentation lifeless. PowerPoint animation provides
undeniable advantages for presenters. One is that animations contribute to the
dynamic nature of PowerPoint presentations. Also, there is a marked increase in
audience participation with the use of visual media compared to other forms of
communication. Visual self-perception comes first. The modern listener has no
interest in using his or her imagination, especially if doing so would distract them
from the more important business-related aspects of what you are saying. Instead of
making people work for what they want, just hand it to them. Give them a visual
representation of it so they don't have to use their imagination. However, it is
important to note that animations should always have a purpose. They need to do a
good job of demonstrating or emphasizing the information or context, and we should
stay away from animations that do not support the content or lack significance (Majhi,
2019).

Part 4: Perceptions of the review with peers

It is necessary for us as a team to conduct an evaluation of team9. Peer evaluations
help us become more objective, and they often make it simpler for us to identify and
implement effective solutions to challenges we encounter in our own and other
people's work.

One of the first things that caught my attention and made me really appreciate the
entire process of seeing was the superb PowerPoint presentation. In addition, I noted
that the speakers for team9 had a lot of body language and eye contact, both of which
are qualities that contribute to effective communication. Research has shown that
using effective body language may enhance the attraction of one's speech and leave an
impression on the audience. Eye contact is a kind of nonverbal communication that
may be used in conjunction with facial expressions, body language, and gestures. All
modes of nonverbal communication have the potential to either facilitate or obstruct
conversation. Maintaining strong eye contact is an essential skill for developing and
sustaining meaningful connections since it has the potential to increase people's like
and respect for you (Schofield, 2011). However, I noted that team 9 had an excessive
number of ppt words. It is poor to read detail on ppt. Therefore, the group should
avoid using paragraphs, direct quotes, and even whole phrases. It is suggested to limit
a slide to five lines and explain your idea with words and phrases. This will facilitate
easier comprehension and retention of crucial topics by the audience.
