Name: Date:
Teresita’s husband draws them a map to Abuelita’s, and they begin their journey.
The girls encounter a donkey and cart.
Pita says that she can understand the donkey and he is talking to her.
Odilia does not trust the donkey and thinks of Teresita’s warning about the nagual, but the
other sisters trust him.
They get on the donkey for a break in walking.
The donkey takes them to a cave, and they are fearful—they realize the donkey is the
sinister nagual.
The nagual changes into his true form, and the sisters pass out outside of the cave under his
spell.
