Nouns
A noun is :
 A person
 Place
 Thing
 Idea
 Emotion.
 You can check to see if something is a noun: Usually, you can put the
words a, an, the, or my before nouns.
--> this doesn't work with words that start with capital letters, such as
California or Suzie.

 Common nouns
Are regular nouns that do not start with capital letters.
Exp. Happiness, boy, desk, city.
 Proper nouns
Are the nouns that start with capital letters.
They are a specific people, places, things, etc.
 Concrete nouns
Are nouns that represent things you can see, hear, taste, feel.
Are either common or proper noun too.
Exp. Grass, paper, perfume (you can smell it), air (you can feel
it), Suzie, and Golden Gate.
 Abstract nouns
Are the nouns that represent ideas or emotions --> we can't
perceive them with our senses.
Exp. Happiness, religion, anger, and Buddhism.
 Collective nouns
Are nouns that represent a group of things or people without
being plural.
Exp. Family, group, orchestra, audience, flock, bunch, herd.
 
 Most nouns can be counted: girls, pencils, stars, etc.
But some cannot be: salt, wisdom, sand, beauty, etc.
