“Face Off”
Questions:

1) Comprehensively summarize the film Face Off in at least 20 sentences or more.

- The summary the film Face off is Sean Archer, a government agent who spent six years
trying to arrest the terrorist Troy, tried to kill him, but instead killed Archer's son. When
Archer corners Troy, Troy tells Archer that he has set up a bomb that will explode if he
doesn't let it go, but Archer thinks Troy is bluffing, so a fight breaks out and Troy falls into a
coma. However, when they later checked some of his brother Pollux's things, they found
out that Troy was telling the truth, and only Pollux knew it. And the only one he's going to
talk about is his brother, Caster, but unfortunately he's a vegetable. A government official
then suggests that Archer assume Caster's identity and question Pollux about the bomb.
She takes him to see a doctor who has mastered the technique of removing one person's
face and placing it on another. Archer agrees. The operation was a success, so Archer was
able to go to the prison where Pollux was being held and tell him where the bomb was. I
turned to the doctor who operated on me. He then goes to jail as Archer and taunts him,
saying that he destroyed all records of the operation and eliminated everyone who knew
about it. He then took his brother away, leaving Archer in prison. However, Archer
manages to escape and tries to find someone who will believe in him and help him while
Troy plans something.

2) How effective FBI Agent Officer Sean Archer in his operations in fulfilling his duties as an
officer of the law. Cite examples and explain each.
- Sean archer is a responsible FBI Agent who can sacrifice his own life just to do his job and
avenge the death of his son that was committed by Castro Troy, although there are still
parts where because of his annoyance with his enemy he is also unable to do his job well as
an agent because his anger consumes him until he reaches the point where he loses hope
that if his mission will be completed, he is an effective agent when it comes to his work but
because of his revenge many lives were also affected just like the doctors who did surgery
on him to transfer the face of Castro on his face, we can't avoid this kind of incident that we
are swallowed by our own anger until we don't even notice that what we are doing is
wrong.

3) What are the criminal acts of the opponent Castor Troy in this film? Cite examples and
explain each.
- Castro Troy is a merciless man who can kill countless lives just to kill his enemies even
innocent people, he is like a tiger who will not stop chasing his food until he catches it and
kills it that's the attitude that Castro Troy has. In the Face Off movie, one of the worst things
he did was killing Sean Archer's son and planting a bomb in Los Angeles that he also
stopped, for me this is also the funniest part of the story he did because who the villain will
try to plant a bomb and then he will be the one to stop it, but this is also one of Castro
Troy's plans so that he can get what Sean Archer has

4) What are some heroic deeds and actions of Sean Archer to save his city in Los Angeles?
- One of the most heroic deeds and actions done by Sean Archer in the story is changing his
face with Castro Troy's and his face just to accomplish his mission of stopping the bomb,
the FBI convinces Archer to undergo surgery where Archer will wear Troy's face to
convince everyone that he is Troy, hoping that Pollux will give him answers. Troy soon
wakes up and has performed the same surgery on Archer's face. Troy destroys all evidence
of Archer's true identity and detonates the bomb himself just to see him as a hero. Archer
escapes from prison and becomes involved with Troy's old gang, determined to destroy
him once and for all. even though because of this he almost lost his hope because of the
unexpected event and it is the resurrection of Castro Troy, in this part of the story Sean
Archer was very impressed because even though he knew the outcome of what he was
going to do he still continued the surgery just to finish his job and avenge his son.

5) If you were Sean Archer and in his position, will you do the same? Share your thoughts.
- If I were in Sean Archer's situation, I would do the same thing as what he did in the story,
because I would probably do everything just to avenge the one we love in life because no
matter or money can ever compensate the life of the someone especially if it's your child.
it's one of my characteristics to do everything I can even though I know that something bad
will happen to me as long as I help other people, I'm happy that I can help my neighbor like
Sean Archer did that he almost didn't even think about himself can only do his job to
avenge his son who was killed by Castro Troy and save Los Angeles from the bomb blast.

6) Do you think that Face off can happen in real life? Share your thoughts
- in my opinion, I can say that the movie titled "Face off" did not happen in real life, maybe
there are some parts in the story that also happen in real life, such as the existence of
syndicates, this is one of the most I have seen happen in real life because even here in the
Philippines drug addicts are also widespread, and also the scene that Sean Archer sacrifice
gis life just to revenge his son and to keep his family away from harm, everyone would
probably do the same thing in real life, all people are ready to sacrifice their lives for their
families.
