POINTS & LINES
POINTS

• Everything starts with a single point

• Point has no dimension

• Point has no part

• As tiny as a pin, as large as a planet still describe as a point

• Carefully arranging many points


LINES
1. The most fundamental of the art.

2. Line is a mark between two points.

3. Line can be Horizontal, Vertical, Dotted, Zigzag, Curved, Straight, Bold or


Fine.

4. Line can be used for a wide range of purposes : stressing a word or phrase,
connecting content to one another, creating patterns and much more.
QUALITIES OF LINE

• Width – thick, thin, tapering, uneven

• Length – long, short, continuous, broken

• Direction – horizontal, vertical, diagonal, curving,


perpendicular, oblique, parallel, radial, zigzag.

• Focus – sharp, blurry, fuzzy, choppy.

• Feeling – sharp, jagged, graceful, smooth.


Type of line

• Outlines – edge of an object, describing shape or its silhouette.

• Contour Lines – Lines that describe the shape of an object & the interior detail.

• Wireframe – Skin of realistic texture

• Free form Gesture – Line that are energetic & catches the movement &
gestures of an active figure.

Shape & Form

• Shape implies spatial form & two dimensional – height & width.

• Form is similar to shape, it has three dimensional – depth, length &


width and resides in space.

• Shape are flat. Form are not.

• Nature, growth, fertility, freshness, healing, safety, money.
YELLOW
• Sunshine, joy, cheerfulness, intellect, energy, attention.
ORANGE • Warm, stimulating, enthusiasm, happiness, success, creative, autumn.
