ACTIVITY TITLE: Essay #5
REALIZATION, INSIGHT AND LEARNINGS
How do the values exemplified by the stories affect our actions as Filipino citizens?
Student’s Answer:

The stories are different from one another, yet they all convey suitable lessons.
Lessons that we, Filipinos, have to adapt. The narrations seemed light, but the
context was deep, and the more we analyze it, the more we realize how the usual
things we do can significantly affect the people or things around us.

The values we learned from the stories highlight the importance of our principles as
humans. Having respect for life can bring unity for the people. Understanding the
differences without the feeling of superiority will somehow lead to justice, where
people learn to know what they deserve, which is an immense value for every
Filipino. We must understand that we deserve more from the unjust system that
we are receiving. We must know that we have the right to expect more based on
what we give. Trying our best to be truthful by sharing our opinions about the
country, we deserve the truth from the officials. Also, protecting the environment
must make us realize how badly we treated ours. The land used to be bountiful, but
now, most areas need help because of what we did. We must think for the
common good in every decision we make by starting it with ourselves.

In conclusion, the values from the stories are ones that Filipinos must embrace to
be better citizens. In every action, we must consider those to be a better person,
that leads to better community and country.
