REALIZATION, INSIGHT AND LEARNINGS
What is your role or contribution in the fight against substance misuse and abuse?
Student’s Answer:

The continuous drug abuse in the Philippines has been going on for decades.
Many lives were taken away just to get rid of those abusers. As a youth, I shall
gather all my strength to prevent the misuse and abuse of drugs.

First, I should understand the concept and reality of drug abuse, in which I
can grasp addiction and help avoid it and watch out for others. Next is to listen,
opening myself up to the knowledge of the experts and experiences of others that
have undergone the abuse, hear their stories, and put the lessons to heart. I could
also share my knowledge in aiding others towards being informed and recognizing
their role in drug prevention. Giving my peers and family members a good push in
the right direction could encourage them, whether prevention or rehabilitation. I
could also show my support by participating in activities beneficial in drug
prevention and adding my presence to the force tackling the issue. Lastly, it is to
inform, by approaching appropriate government agencies regarding incidents and
cases of drug abuse.

In conclusion, change starts with an individual that will multiply and unite as
one with the same goal. Indeed, the complete loss of drug abuse cases is
impossible, but it can be prevented and decreased with our little ways. We shall
begin with ourselves.
