Review: Steps of the writing process

Narrative Paragraph_Assignment:
Write a memorable event or experience in your life.

Go through the following process (print pages 2 – 6):

1. Prewriting  Brainstorm for ideas by freewriting
Freewrite (on p.2) about a memorable event or experience in your life. It might be a happy
day, a sad event, an embarrassing moment, an interesting trip, or a frightening experience.
Write for about ten minutes without stopping. If you find a topic during your freewriting,
continue freewriting on that topic. If you already have a topic in mind before you start,
freewrite on that topic for ten minutes to develop your ideas about it.

On October 2017, my school held a school trip to Bali. I was so excited even I can't slept at
the night before trip. We went Bali by bus. I remember there was 8 buses we used. It took 15
hours to get to the Gili Manuk port and then continue our trip by ship to cross to Bali Island.
We arrived at our destination at 4 a.m. The first destination was Tanah lot beach. We bought
many clothes and souvenir at Joger Shop. On the next day, we visited some beautiful beaches
in Bali. Start with Sanur Beach, we got wonderful sunrise there. Then we moved to Pandawa
Beach. This beach have pleasing view. Next, we went to Tanjung Benoa and met turtles here.

I will never forget my incredible experience there. It so fun to get board on a ship with my
friend and luckily we also met dolphins. In the end of the day we enjoyed gorgeous sunset at
Kuta Beach. On the last day, we watched spectacular Barong Show.

2. Write / draft your paragraph below  Get your ideas on the paper (on p.3).

My school trip experience is one of the most amazing experiences in my life, so I think I need
share it to you. I hope you can also feel the euphoria too. In October 2017, my school held
school trip to Bali. It will be my first time to go far from my home. I have prepared a lot thing
even my mom bought me a new phone. I was so excited that I couldn't sleep the night before
the trip. We went to Bali by bus. I remember there were 8 buses that we used. It takes 15
hours to reach Gili Manuk port and then continue the journey by Feri to across Bali Strait.
We sang along and enjoyed snacks and drinks so we didn't get bored even though it took a
long time to reach our destination.

Finally, we arrived at our destination at 4am. The first destination is Tanah Lot Beach. We
were so excited to start our journey. There is a temple on the top of a cliff and some Hindus
was praying there. It was amazing atmosphere. Next, we bought many clothes and souvenirs
at the Joger Store. The next day we have to put much sunblock because we visited many
beautiful beaches in Bali. Starting with Sanur beach, we had a beautiful sunrise there. Then
we moved to Pandawa Beach. Oh, God. I think it was the best part of this trip. This place has
a gorgeous view. It has a beautiful white sand beach and clear blue water. Me and my friends
took many picture here. You can't enjoy the beach without coconut water, right? So, we
bought some. Then we went to Tanjung Benoa. We were so lucky to met and pat the turtles
here. Another best part was when I got on the boat with my friends. This boat has clear deck
like a window so we can see the cute fish under the sea. It was our lucky day because we can
also met the dolphins. At the end of the day, we enjoyed a beautiful sunset over Kuta beach.
On the last day we watched the spectacular Barong Show.
