LESSON ONE

INTRODUCTION
In the end time that we are, the enemy is becoming more desperate and has
declared a full scale war on the saints. The devil has so much equipped
himself with deadlier weapon more complicated than ever known. 2Tim.3:1.
It will take a reawakening in our faith walk and the handling of this great
offensive and defensive weapon- faith to develop an antidote to this evil
moves of the devil. Eph. 6:16

Faith is a spiritual shield and the only answer to the darts of the devil. Of all
the armour available to the believer, faith is said to be ABOVE ALL. It is
so potent and complex that it provides answers to all the wiles of the devil
no matter how deadly or complex.

It takes a deeper knowledge of God to surmount the attacks of the enemy.

God’s ways are deep, complex and unsearchable. (Rom.11:33)

Agreed, the weapons of the enemy are complex but the complexity of God’s
weapons are more devastating (Exo. 7:12)

Refuse to be intimidated, the devil has not succeeded in devising a problem

that faith can not handle.

DEFINITION OF TERMS
COMPLEX
Complex means having many parts connected together in a particular
pattern. Something difficult to understand or explain because there are many
aspects involved.

Complex in this context is the complicated, many sided aspect of faith.

FAITH COMPLEX
Therefore, is the deep, intricate, complicated, many-sided aspect of faith.
Faith Complex 5
LESSON TWO

WHAT IS FAITH?
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not
seen.” (Heb. 11:1-2)
From this verse of the scripture, two things stand out:
SUBSTANCE AND EVIDENCE

1. SUBSTANCE:
A substance is something tangible, expressible, something real,
handleable - can also be described as a physical matter that can be
touched, not just seen, heard or imagined.

You can safely say faith is a substance you hold on to while you expect
to receive something from God.

The word of God is the substance you hold unto until you get the
desired result. Even in fighting the enemy you need this substance.

2. EVIDENCE
This is information that gives a strong reason for believing. It is a
proof that what you want is obtainable.

Faith is the evidence you need to appear before God to get your right.

Heb. 11:6; Without your evidence (Faith) in your hand, you cannot
move God. No matter how prayerful you are, or how long you fast,
you must produce an evidence before you can be qualified for anything
from God. (Isa. 41:21) “… Bring forth your strong reasons …”
Reason = Evidence

Faith is like the passbook you present in the bank, which proves you
own what is in that bank account.
It is like a title deed or certificate of occupancy - which is an evidence
that you own the property.

Faith Complex 6
(Isa. 43:26 {AMP} “ Put me in remembrance [Remind me of your
merits] ……. That you may be justified [proved right] if you have
evidence you will be proved right even before the accuser of the
brethren {Satan}).
LESSON THREE

THE INTRICACIES OF FAITH

Just as it is in the natural, so it is in the Spirit. A child is first of all born,
then learns to stand, then starts taking steps to walk and grows to learn to
survive on his own. The Spirit realm is the same.

a. New birth - salvation is by faith (Eph. 2:8)

b. By faith ye stand (II Cor. 1:24)

c. The Christian walk is a walk of faith (II Cor. 5:7)

d. By faith we are justified (Gal. 3:8; 2:16; 3:24)

e. By faith the just shall live. To live and not just to exist you need
faith (Hab. 2:4; Heb. 10:38; Rom. 1:17; Gal. 3:11)

f. By faith we live a healthy live - staying away from sickness and all
manner of corruption (Mk. 10:52; 5:34; Matt. 9:22; Lk. 8:48)

g. By faith we stay on victory lane (I Jn. 5:4)

Faith Complex 7
LESSON FOUR

THE SPIRIT OF FAITH

“We having the same Spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed,
and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.”
(2Cor. 4:13)

There is a Spirit called the Spirit of faith (2Cor. 4:13). When this Spirit is
operational in you, there is no complex or intricate or confusing situation
that you cannot surmount.

ORIGIN OF THE SPIRIT OF FAITH

You possess the Spirit of Faith, that you don’t see its manifestation does not
negate His presence.
He that is born of the Spirit is spirit, he is like the wind, and he can not be
defined, determined or described. John 3:6-8.
If our salvation is a product of faith (Eph.2:8), and it is being born of the
Spirit then are we born of the spirit of faith and is operational in us. A
working knowledge of its operations is the first step in the realisation of his
presence and how to walk in it.

NURTURING THE SPIRIT OF FAITH

The word of faith comes by hearing the word of God (Rom. 10:17) while the
Spirit of faith is triggered by hearing the voice of God.

To nurture the spirit of faith you must continually position yourself to access
or hear the voice of God on all issues.
“You cannot hear Him and doubt Him” - Bishop David Oyedepo
Eze. 2:2 When you hear Him, the Spirit of faith comes alive in you and you
stand firm, immovable, nothing has ability to withstand you.

OPERATIONS OF THE SPIRIT OF FAITH 2 Cor. 4:13

1. It believes the word of God no matter how contrary the situation or
conditions are. Rom.4:18-21

Faith Complex 8
2. It declares tenaciously the word of God upon which faith has been placed.
Rom.4:17.
3. It takes the eyes from the contrary situations and focuses on the word.
2Cor.4:18. Ps. 34:5.
4. It brings undeniable victories. Heb.11:8-11

SOME OPERATORS OF THE SPIRIT OF FAITH

a. PETER - He heard “come” (Matt. 14:29) and he walked upon water.

b. MOSES - He heard Him clearly (Ex. 3:4) And from that day he was
never the same again.

c. THE DISCIPLES HEARD HIM - According to John, I Jn.1:1.

“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard …..”

WHAT ABOUT THE VOICE OF GOD Ps. 29

 The voice of the Lord is powerful
 the voice of the Lord breaketh the Cedars. When you hear him, you
break every flinty situation
 The voice of the Lord divided the flame of fire
 The voice of the Lord shaketh the wilderness
 The voice of the lord discovereth the forest.

In the Old Testament days the Spirit of the Lord will come upon men to help
them operate in a dimension of faith that is outstanding. These days it is
resident in us, which is to say we can do whatever they did and even more as
occasion serves us. Some of these men are:
1. CALEB
This Spirit was operational in Caleb Num. 14:24 “But my servant Caleb,
because he had another Spirit with him,” This “ANOTHER SPIRIT” is the
Spirit of Faith. That Spirit spoke in him when he said Num. 13:30 “…. Let
us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.”
2. DANIEL Dan. 6:15-23
The Spirit of faith inside Daniel would not let him bow to man and that
same spirit delivered him from the wild lions.
3. SHEDRACK, MESHACK AND ABEDNEGO Dan. 3:16
The spirit of faith in them spoke “… we are not careful to answer thee in
this matter …”

Faith Complex 9
The Spirit of faith makes you a loud talker, fearless and extremely bold and
courageous.

LECTURE TWO
LESSON ONE

THE SEAT OF FAITH

THE HEART
Mk.4:15 “And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but
when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately and taketh away the word
that was sown in their hearts (Matt. 13:19)

From the parable of the Sower we know that the seat of faith is the heart.

Therefore (Prov. 4:23) “Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the
issues of life”

Joshua 14:7 “….. I brought him word again as it was in mine heart.

Both word of faith and Spirit of faith find a resting place in the heart.

The heart is your Spirit. Job 32:8 “But there is a Spirit in man, and the
inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.”

Faith is produced and manifestation takes place when the inspiration of the
Almighty (breath) comes upon your Spirit.

Living Bible calls it VITAL FORCE.

INSPIRATION HERE IS THE VOICE OF GOD.

Faith Complex 10
LESSON TWO

COMPLEXITIES OF FAITH Heb. 11:32-34

In these verses, faith takes on a new dimension. Men who “out of weakness
were made strong” (vs. 34) men who had no courage, no strength, no ability
- in their weaknesses, faith caused them to be the opposite.

GIDEON (Judges 6:11-12)

God said Gideon had faith but he was scared of the enemies. He was
difficult to convince but when he went to war, God was proved right.

BARAK (Judges 4:6-7)

God said he had faith. Deborah asked him “Has not the Lord God of Israel
comanded?” Barak had a meek Spirit, complying with a prophetess (did not
see Deborah as a woman). His faith was that God said go and so he went.

FAITH IS A VOW

JEPHTHAE (Judges 11:1)

This is a very interesting story. He was a cast away because his mother
was a harlot. But when war came they went for him.

He vowed and because he fulfilled his vow by offering, his daughter he t a

mentioned in Heb. 11 as a man of faith. This is rather complex - “Faith is a
vow.”

RAHAB (Heb. 11:31)

“By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when
she had received the spies with peace.” This is rather strange for a harlot to
be named in the same category as Moses !!!

Classifying Rahab - a harlot - with Abraham and Sarah that they have the
same faith. Can you imagine her there in heaven placed side by side with
people like Enoch, David, etc. This is a very complex aspect of faith.

Faith Complex 11
LESSON THREE

GROWING IN FAITH

Faith is a living force - Faith is in measures (Rom. 12:3)

For faith to grow there must be adequate and proper nutrition and exercise.
There must be a determination to continually step up your word in take and
an untiring exercise of faith. The knowledge of the various levels of faith
will help you evaluate your faith level and become stirred up a desire to
growing in Faith.

LEVELS OF FAITH
a. WEAK FAITH - Rom. 4:19 “And being not weak in faith” For the
scriptures to say Abraham was not weak in faith, means there is a
level of weak faith, therefore develop it.
b. LITTLE FAITH - Matt. 8:26 “Why are ye so fearful, O ye of
little faith?” There is little faith, you need to let your faith grow.
c. GROWING FAITH - II Thess. 1:3 “We are bound to thank God
always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith growth
exceedingly ….” This is the kind of faith that keeps growing. Your
faith can continue to grow if you exercise it.
d. STRONG FAITH - “He (Abraham) staggered not at the promise of
God through unbelief; but was strong in faith giving glory to God.”
That is the realm of strong faith (Rom. 4:20) it comes through giving
glory to God.
e. GREAT FAITH - Matt. 8:5-10; 15:28 Jesus said to the centurion -
“great is thy faith.” The same He said to the Canaanite woman. Note
that these two people were not Israelites. What made the faith of the
Centurion great was because he believed the word of God. He said
“… speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.” It was s if
he knew of Ps. 107:20.
f. GROUNDED AND SETTLED FAITH - Col. 1:23
This is a higher realm of faith, which you get to and become immovable.

Faith Complex 12
As you keep feeding on the word of God through listening and reading, you
grow until you are grounded and settled in faith.

LESSON FOUR

HINDRANCES TO GROWING IN FAITH

Faith cannot grow under certain conditions. Faith can be dwarfed.

The parable of the Sower is a perfect example (Lk. 8:4-14)

1. “WAY SIDE” HEART - On lookers - “Let me go and see what they

have to offer in this crusade”. These are miracle seekers. They do not
profit from the word (Heb. 4:2) they do not mix what they hear with
the measure of faith inside them.

2. “STONY GROUND” HEART - These types of people resist

correction, they are rigid, they already know what to do no matter what
you say, they have their minds made-up. The word has no root in
them (Lk. 8:13)

3. “AMONG THE THORNS” HEART - Heart full of bitterness and

unforgiveness, anger, strife, jealousy etc. The word finds entrance but
can’t survive the choky environment (Mk. 4:7)

Guide your environment therefore with care (Prov. 4:23).

Faith Complex 13
LESSON FIVE

OPERATIONAL STEPS OF FAITH

There are 4 operational steps of faith discussed in this section.

1. REASONING (Isa. 1:18; 41:21)

Reasoning is a major step for the operation of. God wants us to walk
up to him with scriptures and find our way through.

I Cor. 2:16 Always remember you have an anointed brain. You are in
the class of God (Ps. 82:5).

a. You have Memory Capacity - Ability to store information for

you.

b. Conviction - To be convicted in the mind is to believe in a

thing e.g. Salvation.

c. Decision - If you want to buy something it is not your Spirit

that tells you, but your mind which aids in your decision making.
(Deut. 30:19) Your decisions are vital in life. God has respect
for your choice, so reason your way through in life.

2. SOUNDING (Jn. 3:8)

You reason to conceive, you sound to deliver. You are a spirit - you
are likened to wind. SOUND OUT your thought. Even God had to
sound to see what He wanted (Gen. 1:1-31).

So follow God’s examples (Eph. 5:1) do it the way God will do it.
Sound is produced from the mouth - your abundance is in your mouth
(Prov. 18:20)

If nothing can stop your mouth, nothing can stop your life (Lk. 21:15)
Faith Complex 14
Remember that a soundless Christian is a signless Christian.

3. WORKING IT OUT (James 2:17-24)

Its not enough to reason and sound it out, you must put your faith to
work. There must be a forceful application of God’s word.

4. REJOICING (Isa. 12:3)

“with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

Faith and frowning don’t go together (I Sam. 1:8-18). Sorrow is an

indication that the word of God has not found entrance (Jer. 15:16).

Abraham gave glory - Rom. 4:15-21

Rejoice - Rom. 5:2; Rom. 12:12
Rejoice again I say rejoice - Phil. 4:4
Rejoice ever-more - I Jn. 5:16

Faith Complex 15
LECTURE THREE
LESSON ONE

EVIDENCES OF FAITH

Faith without evidence is fake. (Heb. 11:1)

Faith naturally produces evidence of things that were not seen.

1. VICTORY
I Jn. 5:4 Victory is one evidence of faith.

Until victory is realised, faith is not proved. There was enough

evidence in the lives of Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego.

Your dominion in life is impossible without the operation of faith.

2. REST
Rest is another evidence of faith. Always remember that everything
you ever need was paid for 2000 years ago.
(Jn. 19:30) So relax.
Rest is the access to faith
Rest keeps God at work
It guarantees victory (Ex. 14:13-14)
Be still and know He is in charge (Ps. 46:10)

Faith Complex 16
LESSON TWO

FAITH YOUR DESTINY SEED

What you hear determines what you receive. What you receive determines
what you become, where you are is a function of what you believe.

Faith is a seed (Matt. 17:20)

Sow faith and not fear.

Faith = Takes you to your destiny

Fear = Leads to destruction

Every possession is according to your faith (Matt. 9:29)

WAYS OF ENTERING YOUR DESTINY BY FAITH

1. Confession - Rom. 10:9

2. Declaration - Mk. 11:23

3. Manifestation - Rom. 8:19

Faith Complex 17
LESSON THREE

ENEMIES OF FAITH

It is very important to be very careful not to loose faith.

The underlisted are enemies of faith:

a. FEAR
Matt. 14:28-31
Job 3:25
Joshua 1:9
II Tim. 1:7

Fear makes a cheap victim. Faith makes a great VICTOR

b. DOUBT
Mk. 11:23
Matt. 14:31
Matt. 21:21
James 1:6-8

c. SIN
Rom. 6:1
I Jn. 3:3
Heb. 12:14

Remember SAMSON!!!

Faith Complex 18
LESSON FOUR

HOW TO RETAIN FAITH

God is interested in us retaining our faith. There are therefore what to do to

accomplish this.

a. You keep your faith by maintaining a constant relationship with

God (Jn. 15:5; Eccl. 9:4).

b. Keep an unbroken focus on God’s word and stand on his voice. See
only what his word affirms. Abraham looked for a city with foundation
whose builder and maker was God (Heb. 11:10).

c. Refuse to give up e.g. Daniel and the three Hebrew boys.

d. Study to be quiet to hear his voice (Isa. 30:15)

The voice of God is the platform upon which the Spirit of faith operates
