Introduction
Good evening teacher. Thanks for coming our presentation. First, let me
introduce, there are 3 members in my team,… Today, we are going to show you
one aspect of environmental pollution - air pollution, a serious problem that the
world as well as Vietnam are having to deal with. So, we’ll start off by giving you
an overview of air pollution including the real situation, causes and impacts. And
then we’ll go on to discuss several practical solutions in order to improve quality
of the atmosphere.
2. Real state of affairs in Vietnam (facts, statistics)
First of all, I would like to provide some
 As well as we know, air pollution is still an worldwide alarming problem and
Vietnam is no exception. Statistics show that:
 From 2019 up to now, the peak situation of air pollution occurs very often in big
cities, typical are Hanoi and HCM with Air Quality Index (AQI) hovering around
150 to 200.
 However, during the first half of 2021, due to social quarantine in COVID-19
pandemic, air quality in these cities witnessed a remarkable improvement.
3. Causes of air pollution
Now, I would like to draw your attention to several causes of air pollution including
objective and subject factors. So did you know that objective elements like forest fires
and and sand and dusts storms could harm air quality.
a. Objective elements (caused by nature)
Firstly, to talk about forest fires, they …
 Forest fires often occur in dry season on a large scale and it’s difficult to
extinguish. As a rresult, the amount of Nitrogen Oxide and PM2.5 created collides
with other harmful substances like chemical gas and create smog.
 Then let move on second factor which is particularly concerning Sand and dust
storms. You know, in fact fine particles of dust can travel a long distance -
thousands of miles on the back of these storms and they might also carry
pathogens and harmful substances in its way.
b. Subjective elements (caused by human)
Although some factors I have mentioned can increase air pollution, activities of
human mainly cause this issue
 The main reason of this pollution is Industrial activities since smoke and dust
from the exhaust pipes of factories in industrial parks darkened the skies. They can
emit toxic emision like CO2 and a number of other organic substances with
extremely high concentrations
 The second factor is transportation. In reality, Vietnam now has 3.6 million
automobiles and 58 million motorbikes, which cause daily traffic jams and emit a
large amount of carbon dioxide. Moreover, many of them are old vehicles, with
limited technology, creating visibly black exhaust smoke in the country..
 Furthermore, there are other elements causing this problem such as Open waste
burning and organic waste and household air pollution which are most severe
in developing countries such as Vietnam and could bring a decline in air quality.
 So, it is all ab infor mation i would like to provide. Then, my partner Hong Anh
will continue by talking ab several impacts of this issue
