You can use an expert system when a person is not


available

An expert system will always make the same decision


without bias or favour

The rules are set out in program code so you can check
they are fair.

It can be hard for an expert to put their skills into


words.

Not everything can be reduced to logical tests.

Experts can be wrong, and then the algorithm will be


wrong too.

A computer cannot save the continuous data. The


computer must break up continuous data into chunks
that can be stored in bytes in its memory.
