CAINDAY, MISSY – Assignment 1

“We can’t predict where the next pandemic will come from, so we need mitigation
plans to take into account the worst possible scenarios,” he says. “The only
certain thing is that the next one will certainly come.” Bird says. The point of view
that the article is actually trying to tell us is that we should think and provide
modern solutions as soon as possible. A lot of pathogens are not yet discovered,
we may never know how worst these viruses and how badly it can affect us
humans. This situation is inevitable and we can never stop these kinds of
disasters, but alongside of these issues we can generate ways to lessen and keep
away from these pathogens. The Covid19 is affecting bot our social and physical
environment. The Covid-19 negative consequences on biodiversity resources are
predictable as the present pandemic increases according to human population
growth globally. Therefore, the undue pressure posed a challenge to the
protection and sustainable management of biodiversity and the environment.
The article highlighted the possible effects on what the future might bring if the
humans continue to destruct and disturb our jungles. Global health should be a
great concern for us Filipinos or for any other country. There are several reasons
why countries should address the global health issue. For instance, global health
would address predicaments such as: infectious and insect-borne diseases that
can spread from one country to another. Thus, global health should be addressed
by collaborative actions and solutions. A lot of legitimate sources have stated that
tons of death from the 1800’s until this year is due to these existing virus is
roaming in our environment. This Covid19 may have shown positive effects such
as the nuisance of our everyday living has lessen such as pollution but this Virus
will remain as a threat to our biodiversity conservation that drives human-
wildlife conflicts and natural resources destruction. I conclude that there is a
need to end the illegal wildlife trade globally to prevent future pandemic and
biodiversity loss.
