A. Online Platforms for ICT Content Development

Online platforms that you can use for ICT content development are social media platforms like
Facebook and Multiple, and blogging platforms like WordPress, Tumblr, and Blogger. Social media are
hamperes by low customization but are strengthened by their popularity. On the other hand, blogging
platforms are not as popular but highly customizable.

The following is your task for this activity:

1. Log on to your Genyo Account for additional lecture regarding Online Platforms for ICT Content
Development.
In your own words, differentiate Social Media Platforms from Blogging Platforms.
Social media you will develop a larger community, but larger doesn’t mean stronger. If someone is
following thousands of people, chances are they won’t see a lot of your tweets. Social media is also
filled with competition because the timeline keeps on updating. While in blogging content is all by
itself and there is no competition when someone enters the URL to your blog.

2. Filipino 101
1. Research ten uncommonly used Filipino words, their definition, and example for each when
used in a sentence.
2. Create a blog post about these words using the blog you created.
3. Choose three of these words and video someone (or yourself) to pronounce these three
words using all of them in individual sentences. Upload these videos on YouTube.
4. Embed those videos as part of your post.

Which platform is more superior?

 - For me Social media platform is more superior because it has the ability to reach the most
number of people on a regular basis.
Are a social media person or a blogger?
I am a social media person. I have accounts in Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. It is very
easy to access and it is entertaining which I prefer more.

 What basic principles of design did you follow in your blog layout? Explain.

The basic principles that I followed is that I make sure that the
alignments of pictures and texts are the same so that the outcome of my
blog would be clean and easy to read.

A. Basic Web Design

How basic is basic? Imagine the way our ancestors do fishing, They used rod or spear to catch fish.
Today, huge companies rule the fishing industry with their huge fishing vessels with huge nets to
catch fish by the truckload, Unfortunately, those fishing vessels are not affordable so we will still be
using our fishing rod or spear.

The following is your task for this activity:

1. Log on to your Genyo Account for additional lecture regarding Basic Web Design.

Which platform do you prefer: WordPress or Jimdo? Why?

For me the platform I prefer the most is Jimdo because it is easy to use and the templates are
presentable. While being user-friend app it is also fun using.

2. Create an original or derivative ICT content using online creation tools, platforms, and applications

 What basic principles of design did you follow in your website layout? Explain.
The basic principles that I followed in making my website is the composition
of the webpage so that the placement and organization of elements will be
balanced. I followed Negative space, color and typography so that my
website would be simple and appealing when displayed.
