Statement of inquiry
The creation of a logo should convey and communicate perspective, markets and trends, and personal and cultural expression.
Organisations, regardless of their size or purpose need to be able to identify themselves within
often crowded environments. From multinational organisations, identifying themselves as a
trusted brand to a local football club wanting to develop a sense of community and belonging,
logo development forms an integral component to this identity.
You will design a logo for a new and upcoming design company. Using appropriate software tools,
you will need to create a design that will highlight the purpose of the company. There will need to
be a mono-chromatic (one colour) and full colour versions.
These logos will then be presented and given for the use as a corporate gift.
Here are some guiding tips to help you create the logo (Football Club) and achieve objective C:
Construct a plan, which considers the use of resources and time, sufficient for peers to be able to follow to create the solution
Copy the table below and create a step-by-step guide of how and when you will make your logo. There should be sufficient detail so the one of
your classmates could follow your plan and make your logo.
Step Progress
(Main steps Time Tools needed Process (what went right, what went wrong,
needed to make (estimate the time needed) (Software, tools in the software, equipment etc) (Describe how to do this step)
what will you do next)
your logo)
You need to show me that you have been paying attention during demonstrations and when I have been giving instructions. Your logo should be
made to the best of your ability. This criterion will be assessed by teacher observation and the general quality of your work.
Follow the plan to create the solution, which functions as intended and is presented appropriately
Follow your plan and keep a record of how things went. A simple comment in the "progress" column or perhaps a picture or screen shot.
Explain the changes made to the chosen design and plan when making the solution.
As you make your logo, you may decide to make changes to your design idea.
For example, you may decide to remove some part of your logo to make it simpler so that it can be quality printed...This is fine, but you need to
explain why you have changed your design or your plan.
