E – Learning vs.

Classroom Learning

In your classes, how eager are you to participate?

How you learned within the past 2 years of no face to face classes?

What do you feel now after getting back to normal way of learning in school?

Those questions are answerable by knowing about the two ways of learning. The E-learning and Classroom learning.

Let me start with the E – learning.

E stand for electronic resources. It is the act of learning or educating via digital resources such as software programs,
mobile devices and the internet connection.

For the past 2 years of no face to face classes, many schools used this type of learning to instill and continue the
learning of all students.

E - learning can be completed anywhere with an internet connection. Its content is engaging and interactive.
Learners are comfortable of their home. Easier attendance. Less intensity.

At the same time E – learning has negative effects for both learners and teachers; Excess exposure to screen time.
Requires self-discipline and time management skills. Diminished social interaction. And, lack of trust between
teacher and learners.

On the other hand,

Classroom learning is a traditional mode of learning which has been used from the very beginning that has been seen
very effective. It is the true way of educating and learning by all individuals.

Classroom learning environment is created within the physical walls of a classroom. Learners and teachers have to
be available at the same time and be the same place. It encourages every learner to participate and collaborate
physically. Authentic learning experiences. Supports learner social development. Adds more opportunities for
stimulation. Allows instant accommodation for passive learners. And, promotes greater critical thinking.

But, some learners have difficulty attending to school physical especially to those away from school because of travel
time and cost. Attendance times can be restrictive or inconvenient.

Nevertheless, e-learning and classroom learning are both essential and useful for learners and teachers. What
matter is identify what should be taught and what is important for learners to have opportunities to know and be
able to do and have a learning-centered teaching.

Game Plan Proposal
For Newton Olympics

Goal: To identify the different Laws of Motion by Sir Isaac Newton

Materials: piece of paper or coupon, handkerchiefs, 5 objects of various sizes and weights (ex. Water bottle, blackboard
eraser, shoe, ball pen, and notebook), 5 cones, 2 tennis ball, speaker and basketball/volleyball/soccer ball

Procedure: You will move from station to station with each group member performing the activity. You will have 10
minutes at each station. You have to answer each question before moving on to the next station.

STATION 1: PAPER and HEAD!

 Each member of the group must accomplish to catch the piece of paper/coupon by the use of the head only.
 Each member standing and facing the wall, their heads are bowed and waiting to catch the paper/coupon.
 When everyone are done, answer the following questions;
1.) What law of motion applied in the game?
2.) Does gravity affects the paper to fall? Prove your answer.

STATION 2: HANDHERCHIEF Throw!

 Form 5 lines, each pair starts walking while throwing the handkerchief in the air and attempts to catch it.
 Upon reaching the end line, turn around and do the same drill going back.
 Answer the following question when everyone are done;
1.) What law of motion applies in the game?
2.) How does the handkerchief fall when not catch?
3.) How do you think to stop a gravitational force?

STATION 3: 5 TARGET!
 For every member, he/she must hit a variety of targets on a cone.
 The 5 members must accomplish hitting down the 5 targets. 1 member for 1 target only.
 Each member of the group will be given 2 chances to throw a tennis ball to any targets from the throwing line.
Once a target is hit, the next member will be the next to hit any of the objects.
 If the ball hits the cone, no score or it is not valid.
 After hitting all the 5 targets, answer the following questions;
1.) What law of motion applied in the game? Explain this law of motion.
2.) How does the ball stop to its motion?

STATION 3: STOP BALL!

 All members must form into square shape. When the music is played, each member will pass the ball by rolling
it right next to his/her.
 Once the music is stop, everyone should stop passing the ball and everyone should not move and the ball must
be not in motion also.
 All members of the group must accomplish this game within 10 minutes.
 Then, answer the following questions;
1.) What law of motion applied in the game? Explain.
2.) What is the signal of the members when to stop rolling the ball and not move?

STATION 5: ARM WRESTLING!

 Players lock hands together, their elbows on a surface, and push to overthrow the opponent’s arm downwards.
 If who wins thrice, the lose player will answer the following questions;
1.) What law of motion applied in the game?
2.) What is the two forces acting against the players to the other? Explain these forces.
