TASK1. The Integration of Science Concept across the Curriculum

Answer these. Write your answer in the organizer.

1. What is the Core Learning Standard of the Science Curriculum?

 The learners demonstrate understanding of basic science concepts and application of science-
inquiry skills. They exhibit scientific attitudes and values to solve problems critically, innovate
beneficial products, protect the environment and conserve resources, enhance the integrity and
wellness of people, make informed decisions, and engage in discussions of relevant issues that
involve science, technology, and environment.

2. What is the key standard of Science Curriculum for the Primary Grades?

 The learners should have acquired healthful habits and have developed curiosity about self and
their environment using basic process skills of observing, communicating, comparing,
classifying, measuring, inferring and predicting.

3. What standard skills and concepts in Science are expected to acquire by the primary learners?

 The learners should demonstrate an understanding of science concepts and apply science inquiry
skills in addressing real-world problems. Through scientific investigations.
5. What have you noticed in the learning competencies needed to learn by the pupils from Kinder to
Grade 3?

 The Language and literacy. This develops communication through reading, writing, talking and
listening. Literacy is a major focus in early learning, and particularly in kindergarten, because
these skills are so critical. Students learn to read so they can read to learn in later grades.

6. How comes that this curriculum has Grade Level Standards for Kinder, Grade 1 and Grade 2? How
Science concept is imparted to these levels of learners?

 Kindergarten learners need to have a smooth transition to the content- based curriculum. They
need to understand little by little all about science and how we integrate science easily to them.

TASK2. Study the Sequence of Domains of the Science Curriculum then answer the questions that
follow:

7. Looking at the sequence of domains, what have you observed with the contents to be taught to Grade 3
learners in each quarter?

 It’s like the start of introducing some new topics, not just topics but also a topic that thought for
the next grade. It’s like a practice to them for the new environment await them for the next grade.

8. Comparing to other grade level, why contents are being repeated across the grade levels in each
quarter?

 For them to understand it more and be more knowledgeable enough when they reach higher
grade.

TASK3. Study the example of spiraling of competencies across the curriculum. Reflect your finding
by answering the questions below:
9. What are the contents to be learned by Grade Three to Six pupils in the first quarter? What are being
changed while the learners move into the next grade level? Why?

 The contents that needed to be learned by grade 3-6 students are they can manage or be aware of
the characteristics of objects and materials, they can also group according to their ability. While
levelling up the learners will have more wide understanding about the topics.

10. This features of the K to 12 Curriculum is called spiraling of competencies. How important is it to
learner’s developmental needs? Why?

 Every time a student reviews the material, the information is strengthened and cemented.
Additionally, the spiral curriculum enables a natural development from basic concepts to complex
concepts.
